Some bugger got the date wrong on my birth certificate :(

Did 3 hour enduro Thursday
4 hour enduro Sunday with the lads
Long ride yesterday on the GSXR
Another 3 hour enduro ride today

And the steps thingy on phone shows averaging over 8 miles a day

I feel like a teenager coz I've always take care of myself.

I see lots of folk younger than me who look so so old due to self neglect.

Happy happy Yorkshireman here :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Sitting at home with a mate and chatting in french for over an hour.

I know it took me far far too long to learn and get to be conversational, and saturday and monday mornings are tough (speak more english Thurs & Friday and Saturday & Sunday) - but damn it feels so very good to be able to have that sort of chat!!

Including translating some of the birthday and christmas cards I still have on the shelf!! Luckily, he did most of it himself

The Mobile Observatory app.

'Ooh...is that bright thing in the sky the Space Station?'

*dab dab*

'No dear, that's Jupiter'.

I will get a badly fitting suit and a monocle and talk in a very strange, exciteable manner.

Organised (pretty much!) a ski lesson!! As in, Thursday or Friday, confirmation on Monday!!

Sounds a bit daft but I've not had a lesson for almost two seasons and I'm needing some help for sure, but the guy that I usually get lessons with also taught me to ski and can't seem to 'get' why I've lost all my confidence and need some help. I mean he's totally awesome but I think he still sees me as I was and I'm not that person physically or mentally anymore, especially when it comes to sport (skiing and biking!)

Anyway - set up a lesson for next week with another friend but someone that's never seen me ski. So he'll come at the lesson with a clear slate as it were. He's aware of my arm issues and understands confidence issues after injury - and also one of his colleagues has a brachial plexus injury that has caused worse arm issues than mine, so he's seen quite a lot of the problems in various ways (although the colleague is way younger than me and doesn't have the confidence issues - but was/is a way better skier than me!!!)

Anyway - looking forward to one of my days off next week :) :) :)

LOL! Speed limits up here in the desert are a bit less restrictive than down the hill in LA. This road would be 35 or 40mph in LA.

When were you last in the UK? Almost everywhere is 20mph now.

June 12th 1991. Residential streets here are 25mph, nobody goes that slow except outside schools.

Almost everywhere is not 20mph, even in Wales. I do a fair bit of driving and the only place I see 20 limits is outside some schools. A google search indicates that 30% of URBAN roads are 20mph.

Cornwall is busy changing most (not all) 30mph limits to 20mph. It's for the kittens.

In Germany the speed limit I've seen through designated areas, yellow place name sign going in, crossed out name going out, is 50kph. There's also 30kph limits outside schools at designated times, some hospitals and sometimes for hgvs at night.

Edinburgh is 20. Some main roads have been changed back to 30 but any bult up area 20. My wee town east of Edinburgh is 20 as is most of the Lothians. Glasgow if not yet is starting to change to 20. Only good thing about being stuck as 20 the cyclists are less annoying.
