Re: In todays news...
I certainly do. In fact I have one for my LC and am debating whether to fit it, or keep it original. From memory the Cibie was way better than Yam OE. With a modern LED bulb it would be even better.

The Cibie is a lot better than the standard LC light, I had one with a concave lens

Oh yes, superb. Fitted one to my 400Four - but had to use a headlamp shell from a Honda 750 to get the bigger diameter.
One of the mags did a comparison. The Z's dip beam was further than main on a Yam XS750!

I'm not sure it was a Cibie lens, it came in one of my LCs, worked better than the headlight my previous LCs had and someone told me it was Cibie, it was yellow

ZBeam had an extra 'drop' on the right, so it could be tilted higher without dazzling oncoming drivers.

Yep, standard convex. It was Cibie 'kit 911 - Z180 Halogen conversion'. Also fitted various Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha models of the day according to the box.

I believe that the Cibie Z beam range are still produced in France, but now branded as Valeo. I bought four of them for my Beta Spider and can switch hi/lo beam on all four units. High beam with four headlights is very impressive. And pisses off oncoming drivers a treat...

Re: In todays news...
My F350 had a pair of 200W *manually switched reversing lights* under the rear bumper. The drivers side one pointed straight back & the PAX side one was angled to intercept the other beam about 40-50ft back. Worked great on tailgaters with their brights on. Most times I'd hear the screech from their tires as they stood on the brakesmangocrazy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 3:48 pm I believe that the Cibie Z beam range are still produced in France, but now branded as Valeo. The last project I worked on at my old Carbon Fibre job was stuff for the GMA T.50...the carbon fan in particular was my baby.
The V12 indeed sublime but it's little things which get me. The switchgear for example was developed at great expense, Gordon Murray hates the very slight free play you get in the switches even in million pound cars. So he paid to design it out. Truly a man who cares about every part of the car, not just funny brum brum noises.

Residents near a nuclear power plant in Minnesota have raised concerns over public officials’ delayed notification about a ‘400,000-gallon leak of radioactive water’ containing tritium in late November.
According to reports, the incident at Xcel Energy’s Monticello nuclear power plant was only publicly confirmed for the first time on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Xcel Energy told ELN:
“We understand the importance of quickly informing the communities we serve if a situation poses an immediate threat to health and safety. In this case, there was no such threat. With no immediate safety risk, we focused on investigating the situation and containing the affected water in concert with our regulatory agencies.
“Now that we have thoroughly investigated the issue, contained the leak, and mapped out a path forward, we are at a place where we can share with the public not only what has already been done, but what we’re going to do next. This timing allows us to provide the most accurate and complete understanding of the situation.”

Chap suddenly cheered up "Have you found it?"
"No, it's always Cortinas"

It's been 24 hours since 34 felony counts were filed against Trump. Some interesting things have come to light...
He's been accused of writing checks in 2017 to influence the 2016 election...
He's been accused (by a State prosecutor) of breaking a Federal election law that the Feds say doesn't actually exist...
The statute of limitations on all the charges ran out four years ago...

The funniest part of all this is watching the talking heads on the leftie MSM look completely deflated after they had high roller lawyers on to explain the charges & being told they amount to the fat end of sweet fuck all. I'm surprised a few of them aren't on suicide watch.

Re: In todays news...
I’m naive enough to believe that the Potus (or president or PM of any significant country) should be a person of reasonable integrity with a decent moral compass. I am. You are. Why can’t they be? I don’t have to agree with their politics, they just need to be a decent human being. That any significant portion of the US public supports Trump says something pretty alarming about America tbh.Potter wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 2:12 am But what he has done is gone around doing whatever he wants and then thinking that he can pay them off because he's rich.
I'd like to see an end to it and an example made.
Unfortunately, making an example of him (or Biden for taking Chinese money) won't work, because its endemic, all they do is occasionally pick out someone that they don't like and go after them, whilst a lot of other people carry on. Epstein and his assistant is a great example, he's dead, his assistant silenced, but what about all the high-rolling monsters that used his services?
And this isn’t a defence of Biden, surely the Democratic Party (and the GOP come to that) can find a couple of less tainted (and less doddery) candidates.

There's a pub in Portsmouth called The Honest Politician. There are probably a few pubs called that.
I think the name is a joke.
