That's quite a good fit.

There's a Spondon H1 somewhere near here, I used to work with the owner. Lost touch in 2000 I wonder where it is now?

Nice to see that engine in a frame that's up to the job.
Seems rather dismissive to dismiss a 'kettle' as a 'bucket' though.

Over here it was always known as the 'waterbucket'. Elsewhere as the 'kettle',or 'water Buffalo'.Count Steer wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:29 am Seems rather dismissive to dismiss a 'kettle' as a 'bucket' though.![]()

I see it in the Kawa triple world. There are owners who have worked their way down to 30 odd bikes, either the same or similar. I think there's a collector's gene in some folk and it gets to be an obsession. Magpies.Ditchfinder wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:44 am One would be rare enough but what makes someone buy 7 DKW's

There's a few guys who collect early Hinckley Triumphs too, maybe because they are bloody cheap and spares are mostly available and interchangeable between models.Skub wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:54 am I see it in the Kawa triple world. I'm just glad I don't have room in the shed or i'm sure another Triumph would have been bought 'for spares'. This is how I've ended up with so many pushirons. Oh i'll just grab those bargain wheels and forks and before you know it a frame arrives.
