Dunno - maybe the guys who made mine just hate Karcher
TBF ours is decking in the old fashioned sense. Planks of hardwood, nailed to raised frame. Literally looks like the deck of a ship. Minus the caulking.

We've got a large decked area on the back of our place - I just jetwash it every other year and apply a good lashing of non-environmentally friendly creosote, don't have an issue. It's been down 20+ years too......

Hah! To illustrate an article on bike security, I borrowed this from my neighbour's decking.

Nobody here has decking. Everyone tiles everything
We have same tiles on all 3 floors of the villa, around the pool and all 3 patios. I worked it out about 400m2
Must have been a helluva tile order

Luckily they ordered too many and we inherited about 100 which is cool for when ones get broken.
My pal with the Panegale is a tiler

Same in South of France. Decking is nowhere to be seen, don't even see it on sale in the discount sheds. You'd have the opposite problem here (and where you are) - it would dry out, warp and crack with the heat. Can't stand the stuff myself, but I think as a fad that it's passed its peak.
Agree about tiles - everywhere you look.

Bought some fuel stabiliser for the CBR -
Sat around all day on last bit of my Holiday .
Fiddled with my ancient Bose speakers and managed to get them to work a bit better -
No decking was involved
Winter is finally here judging by the outside temp

A lifetime supply of smug, I reckon...
I do like the little palisade. Is that to herd the Brits and keep them inside on the decking?
I guess that was a response to the regs regarding pools and how they must be fenced off to avoid people stumbling into them by accident?

Yup. The owners were, at the time, running a BnB, so often had kids about.
Rarely Brits tho'

I like snow and I like winter if it's somewhere that you get proper seasons, where you get a nice fall and then a proper white winter, but I don't like the 6-7 months of grey skies and drizzle that you seem to get in most parts of the UK, it's not one thing or the other and it's miserable.
I liked it when I was much younger and didn't own a business that gets shut down because it has snowed. As a youth, I loved it as the schools were apt to be closed for a day or two. I also would manage to con my way into taking the car out under false pretenses so a few of us could race around a parking lot on the ice. It was good practice for being out on the road.
Now I'm in an area that is ill prepared for it as we seldom get snow, so all the fuckwits on the road can't seem to figure out how to drive on slippery stuff. They all head to the store in panic and grab the toilet paper, bread, and milk as if they're going to be snowed in for several days to weeks. In reality it just makes a big fucking mess around here. Most of it is gone in two or three days and the remains are muddy yards. That and there's almost a guarantee that every back road will have a well shaded turn that is laden with ice that clowns won't anticipate before they head into said turn at or above the posted limit. The icing on the cake, it means I've got to do a bunch of work just in order to be able to do my own work. That often means I have to be up in the wee hours moving snow about so later in the morning I'm ready for the appointments that will probably cancel anyway. This is always a sketchy time for me, financially speaking, as I've just paid several insewerance bills associated with running the shop and the coffers are all empty.
Truth be told, it creates some of the most beautiful scenery when it's fresh. It is also nice to see it falling in areas that rely on the snow melt to replenish water in the area when spring rolls around.
My attitude will change once I retire in a few years (threeish).

Had the tiler start on the kitchen flooring today. He should finish the tiling tomorrow and then back on Thursday to grout and we’ll finally have a finished new kitchen!

Had my oven repaired! Yay, we can cook again! Well cheaper than getting a new one too. Managed to get an appointment for my hearing aid at the hospital tomorrow, so very quick indeed.
I was contacted by a funeral director to take a service and burial for a young lad, 26 yr old passed away Christmas Eve, leaves behind two young children and his partner. One child has cerebral palsy. So sad and I will have to be there for them to ensure they get the funeral they are looking for and also the comfort they will very much need.

Was out today so popped into Motorrad on the way home. There sitting on the showroom floor was ‘my’ GS that I had specced out before I decided to change to triple black. Nice tho it looked I think I made the right decision.
Chatting to the salesman he was saying so far they have 32 new bikes going out on March 1st.

I've just been for dinner with a friend. We went to a restaurant we've never tried, but I knwo the chef and my friend knows the chefs partner (she does the front of house stuff)
Well damn, that was a brilliant meal! Mine was simple (burger with cheese n bacon!) but great; but my friend had steak tartare rossini - basically, it was steak tartare prepared at the table! She made a mayonnaise, added various ingredients as my mate liked then mixed in the steak. Then had fois gras added to the top with white truffle shaved over the dish.
Stu has been hankering for a decent steak tartare since the start of the season - I suspect we'll be going back at some point. Not least because I've never had steak tartare - wanted to try it for years but also quite picky about the resto and the chef. But after tonight, I'd trust Sam and Ludavine anytime! She did say we need to call a few days in advance, either to check the days they are doing steak tartare or if not on one of those days, to give them warning to get the 'correct' steak in to do it
Not only have we had a fab evening but it's snowing and (at last) cold!! Things are looking up maybe

Went to watch the start of the big Transatlantic yacht race.
https://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/2022 ... ntic-race/
Eventually. The yachts have been on Puerto Calero all week so we headed down there. In true Spanish style, they didn't say they'd moved the boats to the new Marina in Arrecife.
Only 10 mins drive and better viewing. A couple set off, then some more. Some still circling. Not much sense. Then everybody went home
