Thought I'd cracked a tooth on Friday, dentist said today I'd just chipped some of the composite filing which he was able to file down at no extra charge.

I can recommend a dentist here. It would be cheaper to fly to Alicante and hire a car to visit them than to go to a UK dentist, and they're really good.

Last night took Ozzy into town.

Lots of locals asked his name but couldn't quite get it :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Over here the name Jose is pronounced Ozzay. Not hozay as in Spain.

So they all replied Ozzay and thought I couldn't pronounce Jose properly :obscene-birdiedoublered:

It's near enough ;)

Lick of paint and a bit of flooring and it's spruced up nicely.

Blue light has a shorter wavelength and can penetrate the eye further, causing retinal distress, sleep disruption and even macular degeneration. Jump across the colour wheel and stick yellow in there and pretend its sunny! 8-)

Did Elvis ever sing about a Yellow Christmas? I don't think so.

I realised some time ago that's it's easier to tell French people I'm called Thursday, then to expect them to pronounce Jody

Took Ozzy, the new mutt, to vets to get checked out as we didn't know his background.
He's very healthy and doing well.

He wasn't chipped, so she did that.
She said "he's legally yours now so they can't take him back if they changed their minds"

That all made us very happy

And the bill?

Consultation.
Insert microchip.
Rabies injection
Flea tablets
Worming tablets
Dog shampoo

103€ :obscene-birdiedoublered:

💩🎄 Why is there a little boy pooping in some nativity scenes in Spain?
If you travel around Spain you might spot something funny (and a bit shocking!) hidden in the Belén…
A small figurine of a person squatting with their trousers down.
Yes, it’s real. And yes, it’s supposed to be there. 😂

This character is called El Caganer.

🤔 Where does it come from?

El Caganer is a tradition from Catalonia dating back to the 17th–18th century.
It’s usually placed somewhere in the corner of the nativity scene — never next to the Holy Family!

💩 But why??

Believe it or not, the meaning is actually positive:
💛 It symbolises good luck
🌱 Fertility of the land
🌾 A good harvest for the coming year
✨ And the idea that “everyone is equal,” no matter who they are

😀 Modern versions

Today you can find Caganer figurines of:
• football players
• celebrities
• politicians
• even cartoon characters

It has become a funny, light-hearted Christmas tradition.

🎄 So next time you see a pooping figure in a Belén…

Don’t worry — it’s not a mistake.
It’s a very Spanish (and very cheeky!) Christmas tradition.

Have you ever seen a Caganer before? Would you add one to your Belén? 😄👇
