There's been several people burned to death here because they couldn't open the doors after a crash/fire.. altho TBF, the same has happened to a couple of people in the latest Corvettes too.

Who's heading for 15 minute cities ? Don't always believe what you read. They're a complete and utter non-starter and a vast majority of the people don't want them for a single second. Maybe in 100+ years they'll work, but for now, fuck all chance of that.

At the rush of getting into politics...
15 minute city was one of the many lies that our former MP trotted out to conflate it with traffic restrictions.
And that's why I don't like the cnut.

A 15 minute city concept is that shopping, education, work, healthcare, leisure stuff and other things that you want around you are all available within a 15 minute walk or cycle so that you don't need a car to go about your life.
Nothing to do with being restricted in where or how you go anywhere.

Anyway, back on topic.

I found out this weekend that the i4 has absolutely fuck all ground clearance, and when you bottom it out it makes a fucking horrid sound.
I thought that I'd left part of the battery somewhere near a hump back bridge in Somerset.

202 miles @ 3.8 mile/kWh, about £3 with of electric.

Is having cheapo electric door handles an improvement?
I must have missed that memo.

If two handles (presumably with both electronic and mechanical mechanisms) are needed on the inside, it can hardly be the 'cheap' option.

Apparently, there is a manual release cord for emergencies. TBF, it's just door bell or door knocker really. Which do we choose when we go to a house? It's the button for most of us every time...

Yeah, it drives really nicely. Only done about 150 miles in it so far, but enjoying the silence.
Get a proper charger installed next friday as can't be doing with 18hrs to charge :D
Purchased a few bits for it, trying to keep away from ebay!

Yup, and you know roughly what it will look like and where it will be: about chest height, alongside the door.

But AFAUI, not even Tesla are consistent where they put the manual release?

The Tesla Model S looks very good value used these days.

Looking at the pictures, it could be a really good family car. There are three decent seats in the rear and a huge boot. It's got plenty of gan in it as well.

I don't know what they're like to run. Charging and tax look cheap but I've seen some fairly big maintenance bills. Still much cheaper than an ICE car with comparable performance I imagine.

The Tesla Model 3 has a surprising amount of room in it. I never have to move my seat forward when I have my lanky lot on the back and a very decent sized boot too. Should have been a hacth back though...

My i4 has a massive boot and is a hatch (though it doesn't look like one), I've carried 2400mm ceiling panels in it.

but.. I'm 6'3" and there aint no one sitting behind me (cept amputees) with the drivers seat in a comfy position.

I got lots of kids. My two boys are over 6ft now, even though one of them's only just turned 14. I need a fair bit of space. Plus two rather large dogs as well now!

I need a very big hatchback or an estate really.

All my boys (20 yo - 13yo) are 6’+ and there is stacks and stacks of head and leg room in the i5.

I would say 3 in the back is a squeeze but if it’s just four of you, very comfortable.

I've seen a Kia PV5 on the road.

WTaF!

I'd post a picture of one, but I'm worried about getting banned for posting something so horrific.

There's a Kia dealer I pass sometimes and there's usually one or two on the forecourt. In the right colour and from the right angle, they still look dreadful.
