Today I gotall theshitIneeded toget done yesterday signed sealedand delivered. All but one anyway.* The two rattling nickels were easily retrieved by removing a couple of screws and pulling the door panel out atthebottom. Caching!Saga Lout wrote: Sat Jan 16, 2021 10:20 amMy brother once told me that whenever he felt depressed he would listen to a Leonard Cohen song. There was a bit more of BMP shit today but the keyboard shit is also BMP,so fuckit. I had a bunch of stuff that neededto be done today, but allthe other shit neededto be dealt with first.
Thank you for making my day seem a whole lot better.![]()
*The truck with the nickels also needs a bit of brake work. Looking at it before tearing into it I surmised replacing the banjo bolts at the caliper would be a good idea as they're looking a bit worse for wear. Rather than get stuck in the middle of the job needing a $1.50 part I decided to spring for a pair of them. They hadto be ordered. Two weeks ago. Only one arrived lastweek, so the second onewasordered then. I go by the place on other errands so stopped in today. Some nobber at the other location sawthat I'd already picked up one and cancelled theorder. Fuckit, cold and windy here, so it was a good excuse to not work onit.

The inexorable inevitability of the falling drip of paint finding the gap between drop cloths and landing on part of the carpet which won't have furniture on it

Pointless shite manufacturers print on their products. I happened to look at the shower gel bottle today and read '100% inspired by nature'. Seriously, what the fuck does that actually mean?

In a similar vein to Gremlin's gripe. The crap you see on job ads.

Accountants are invariably terrible for it IME. You ask for a breakdown of costs and they just send you a dump of their 'internal' spreadsheet.

It means there is a legal limitation on the use of the word "natural"* so the advertisers get as close as they can without crossing the line.
* There is for food products, I'm not sure if it applies to shower gel.

It always amuses me that companies equate natural = good. Really? Belladonna, Hemlock, even those pretty toadstools.

Absolutely agree, I went into Sainsbury's the other day and they have a sign that says "Sainsbury's - our values make us different"! First off not they fucking don't, you are the same as any other retailer and secondly even if it was true, so what? The Nazis values made them different too!! and breathePseudonym wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 11:29 am In a similar vein to Gremlin's gripe. The crap you see on job ads.

Renewing broadband when there's just a choice of idenitical mediocre connections, then a couple of months later getting a flyer through the door because a new company is offering something much better.

LED fekking lightbulbs...
"LASTS 15,000hrs"
Oh do fuck off... do they...
They cost a bomb (coming down but still 10x the cost of a incandescent bulb) and they last less time than I would if given access to Kylie Minogue's knicker slit.

That did make me laugh. I use that phrase a lot, especially when my Hubby is winding me up.

Although, John Wayne allegedly suggested that horse shit was good lip balm.
