Not just once, but twice in two days.

Not usually a cause for celebration, but given that he's just had a section of intestine removed that's good sign after a couple of days. He's up and moving about the ward and taking strolls down corridors, which for his age is bloody good, according to the nurses. They've started him on soup today, so I reckon another good episode of shitting himself is on the cards.

First month in the new place, 4.5km each way to work - I've only used two thirds of a tank of petrol

Gonna try and remember to fill up tomorrow so I can see what happens next month as should be going up to resort less (had to go back a few times to get stuff from storage!) - even if I go to Chambery for lunch, that route is quite good on fuel, so it shouldn't make and difference !!!!

Take it for a longer run occasionally. I know people say short distances kills diesel DPFs, but short runs in a petrol cause condensation to form in the exhaust... which soaks the myriad of sensors. The wife doing a tiny commute in my SL350 killed the Nox sensors, on a longer thrash it would take ages for the exhaust to stop steaming there was that much water in it.

Facetime! Wife and I were on FT to our daughter for 2.5 hours last night. Yakking away, with all of us having glasses of wine. Must be such a great thing for families living in different countries etc.

Never really appreciated the real value of it until my daughter went to uni - she calls a couple of times a day and it's properly ace

Tonight's Green Chef recipe said if you've got one, use it for your courgette. What a random revelation! Zero effort, and instant healthy spaghetti substitute.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a patch on actual pasta, but it was a fun way of making food, and cooking it in garlic butter helped significantly

Never rains here so visor doesn't get wiped/scratched, but still must get slight scratches without noticing
Last one (3 year old) got big scratches so ordered a new one.

Cheers for the info. In 'general' I would do a 15 min (minimum) run at least once a week, going up to resort is about 30 mins each way (and a bit more engine stress ) and hopefully will restart the weekly round trip to Chambery (about an hour from here and I tend to use the motorway so it gets a good blast)

Mind you, out of nowhere I've been asked to take a friend's daughter to GVA on Saturday, so that'll be a proper run (about 2 hours each way!)

But it hadn't occurred to me that petrol engines suffer from the short tips too, so that's good to know (in the interseason I won't normally be going up to resort each week, so need to make sure I'm going somewhere !!!)
