Spent the day filling in online forms as to where I've been, who I've seen etc.
Still no symptoms!

Raging at the telly when that lying buffoon of a PM appeared on it.........

Also switching off and on electricity and chasing missing paperwork.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Back at The Ritz now pleasantly tipsy on gin cocktails.

I’m just wondering whether to chance my arm and suggest to Mrs Potter that we finish the day in style with a high end Russian brass.
Well that's knocked the bollocks out of my taking the wife to the Harvester in my car and sharing a bottle of Jacobs Creek. Not even the free salad bar can pull it back!

Didn't even realise it was possible to do that.

It was epic.
The guy ran through some quick tests to make sure I knew what I was doing and then handed control to me and told me to have fun.

It was like an ultra responsive bike, all I had to do was look where I wanted to go and think about turning and it went there with a genuinely barely perceptible movement of the stick.
Climbing was the same, but dropping altitude needed a bit of a push and it was quite clonky. Once you were in the dive it was fine but going from a climb or level flight involved a clonk.

Transitioning from level flight to an upwards hard turn was the best feeling in the world. I did it exactly like a bike, turned my head and reached a bit and it just went.
Sounds ace.

I'm seriously considering gifting a flight to my dad

They do them at Sywell in Northamptonshire as well. Spitfire, Messerschmitt and a P60 I think. 2 seaters.

Regularly see Spitfires over Beachy Head whilst walking the dogs or surfing at Birling Gap, always stop and watch.

Woke up feeling smug about the lack of post-booster lurgie.

I suspect i was a bit premature.

Feeling a bit feverish, headache and aches everywhere. The man-flu, which was a distant memory, seems to have taken advantage of my weakened state and is ravaging this old, wizened body.....

Nothing exciting or spectacular. But after a little walk along the snow front, and a sighting of a lesser spotted Piste Badger (as my phone insists on calling them!), a friend drove to the valley and we saw a snowplough that had gone a bit further over the edge of the road than planned, and a tree that had crashed down and almost blocked the road (didn't get a photo of that) - and I got to look at the view for a change. Damn it's freaking gorgeous here. Ok, life has been a smidge (well, a lot) shit for the past 4.5 years, but at least I live here in the mountains! Can't imagine how much worse things would have been if I'd been in places I've lived before!!

At least here, whatever happens, I still get to look at the views - and they always make me feel better!

I love snow.

For the first 10 minutes. Then I remember it's cold and wet.

But, decent boots, warm clothes and a sunny day - it doesn't feel cold and is only wet if you go lie in it!!

TBF, I had maybe two days of 'normal for this time of year' cold/scratchy throat symptoms. Then nothing. Similar with a friend. I only tested positive for two days (LF tests) - he tested positive on LF tests for a couple more days and then tested positive on PCR for a week - think he's stopped doing those now

Even last March I didn't have symptoms that registered as Covid symptoms (was tired from the season anyway!) - I only realised when about two months after shut down I could smell the fresh bread from the bakery again!! LOL

Annoying, but seemingly there aren't always symptoms (specially if you have the constitution of an ox, or something like it!! LOL)

You lasted 10 minutes! I'm impressed. Even a premonition of it fills me full of dread! :( Good luck to noggers and Jody and anyone else that loves it, but I absolutely hate the stuff. I look at snowy pictures and think, I bet its nice there in the summer! :D

Really cold snow isn't wet though is it? :D When you're skiing etc. you just brush it off like a powder, it's only wet if you get it inside your outer layers. It has to warm up before it's wet.

Pining for the slopes now :(

Generally yes. I don't wear a 'waterproof' jacket because I so rarely need one (I actually don't have one!!). Today of course I've been out and about way more than normal on a snowy day (I'm a FWSkier!) and my softshell jacket was not enough!! LOL

But then, we are having way more snow that I can remember at this time of year. And generally I don't plan on a 30 minute walk in it when it's snowing!! LOL

But, today - up fairly early and heading to lift pass office, collect pass. Head home to get some paperwork cos meeting friends at the parking garage for parking passes. More walking in snow - but, TBF, I love it!!

Then, met a friend who wanted some stuff from the garage I use, so walked a bit more, met him, sorted stuff into car and some stuff to come back to my place. More walking in snow to get to and from car/apartment! We drove back to his place with my skis to wax them (I've never done it, so he showed me and at some point in the new year I need to get the stuff to do it!! LOL Far more simple than I thought!)

Soooo - cos of the open parking by his chalet and the drive to and from and the sheer volume of snow, we walked back down to centre!! A good 30 mins in driving snow! And deep. In the couple of hours from him leaving to come down to mine and us getting back there'd been about 2-3 inches!! Bloody hell!! And still falling in volume!!

Met another Stuart for a coffee (well, they had beer!) in one of the few places open! Then they went back to their homes (one Stu gave the other a lift, cos, damn the conditions aren't good for wlaking!! LOL)

I did some more sorting in the garage and Finally cooked a bacon sandwich for breakfast (it's 16:00!! I kinda got distracted from breakfast!)

When I've finished breakfast, then I have to sort out the things from the garage to live under the bed. And then I'll have a seriously hot shower and probably go to bed!! LOL

Well, actually I'll wait till work confirm the jobs for tomorrow, THEN I'll go to bed!! LOL

BUT - despite the fact that today the snow is wet - DAMN it's good cos, well, sooooooooo much!!!! I've never seen this much snow at this time of year.

We always have enough, but we've had way more than a metre fall in about a week - and it's still coming!! For the first time in the 12 years a friend has had kids at school here, they closed the schools up here and in the valley at lunchtime!!

I'm kinda glad I'm working tomorrow because I won't ski in falling snow, so will hold fire till Sunday or Monday!! LOL When the sun is out it will be AMAZING!!!!! :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

(I will have to start work early enough to remind myself how to do chains - I'm not going back out now!! LOL :shifty: )
