That was Big Nige's 'location' - somewhere over the rainbow, weigh a pie.

I suspect it does the exact opposite to what it says on the tin. :)

That's a favoured beer in one of the best bars up here!! Mostly for the Brits - they generally ask for a small coq hardi or a big coq hardi!!   (TBF, as the evening goes on it - want a big coq or a little coq mate?!)

No, that's wrong, the brits only drink big ones apparently :angelic-green:

Remembering American photographer
Thomas James Howard Jr. who died yesterday, October the 8th, in 1961.
Howard had an illustrious and varied career.
However he is best known for one of his earliest successes.
In 1928 he attended the execution of Ruth Snyder (who had murdered her husband)
Cameras were banned, but he secreted a camera on his leg - capable of a single exposure, controlled by a cable release in his sleeve.
He was able to capture the moment that the electric chair delivered its charge. The image (which I will put in the comments) made for a spectacular, popular, but macabre, front page.
The picture here shows him (seated) demonstrating his camera. The local police attempted to prosecute him, but no conviction was obtained.

Ruth Snyder - the Sash Weight Killer, as she was known, IIRC.

Was a huge story in the US in the 1920's, as she was portrayed as a femme fatale, but in truth was one half of a hapless pair of murderers.

Yes, that is a peppercorn sauce fountain!

I’d happily order that in a pub as a meal, I’m not sure whether I’d share it or not :D

In my 20s after a night on the lash in the pub, I'd have probably scoffed that lot easily enough! :D Strange that now i'm in my 60s, probably weighing 2.5 times what I did back then, I'd not get a third of that down!

I find it bizarre how gluttony is regarded as a trait to be admired.

Granted, that may have been for a family of ten who have just finished an ultra marathon, but I doubt it.

Have you ever seen Man Vs Food? I mean after the pub munchies is one thing, but I dont understand the hero worship of someone risking killing themselves but eating a ridiculous amount of grub? :wtf:

Isn't it symbolic of "success" in most cultures? "I have more money than you, so I can eat more than you!"
