Finally got round to ordering my shoes and pants from Community Clothing (as mentioned up there ^^^^^).

I said I'd report back. Very pleased. The rather retro trainers are a particular

All made in ye merry England.

Of course, as I was buying something, the missus decided to get in on the act and more clothes arrived for her than me.

(None of this is conspicuous consumption - my ancient Saucony (good ol' - made in China - American trainers) were extremely dilapidated...and unrepairable of course and I needed new 👖 because a few of my old ones don't fit any more - I've shrunk :D ).

Well being as I didn't have to work today (see above). I felt it would be rude not to take my KTM out for a blast.
Last time out I used an app to generate a loop for me to ride. It came out at a nice round 70 miles.

Off I went for fuel, €12 for super unleaded, which I didnt mind as the cost of a morning's ride. I paid cash as the independent petrol station offers a free bottle of wine if you spend over €75 and pay cash, so they must prefer it!

I set off once again and much to my delight, I managed to take exactly the same route. At least 4 junctions I just guessed at as I didn't recognise them, and every time, within a few metres of making my guess, I'd see something I did recognise and knew I was going the right way 😂.

This allowed me to leave my phone in my pocket and hopefully now, it won't get killed by the vibrations.

Flight price.
My Boy in Perth is adding to his flock, so I was planning another trip for a visit. I did this last year and it would be 5 days of riding, paying for 4 nights accommodation.
The cost of a flight from Adelaide is 210 sterling return. It’s a no brainer. It would cost me that in fuel alone.
I do have to pay 60 quid to park the Bike at the airport for a fortnight though.

Lol, he was wandering up and down photographing rocks and cliff faces!

We stopped at the next cove and had it all to ourselves, mainly because one of the dogs is a tad odd/anxious around others. Later on a woman and her (presume) Son wandered up the almost empty beach and stopped about 10 feet away from us and proceeded to speak in a vey loud, projected voice, which started my dog barking at her. I dont own the beach obvs, so tried to calm the dog down, but kept thinking why with an empty beach do you stop 10ft away from the only people in sight and start their dog barking and just stay there. Fortunately they decided to move on before I suggested they might be best to. Might have been locals who od teh same walk each day and always stop there for a breather or suchlike i suppose?

Having the right tool for the job. :banana-wrench:
I did think splurging 70 quid on a Dremel a smidge OTT, never mind that I got 150 quids worth of Dremel for 70 quid, when the job only took 2 minutes (hollowing out a mounting for new indicators) I was even more convinced I really shouldn't have bought it

But the alternative would have me attacking it with side cutters and drills for 10 minutes and ending up with a dogs dinner, so totes justified, and now we have a Dremel should we ever need one again

Riding hack :obscene-drinkingcheers :obscene-drinkingcheers:

There are road works, on the road 'home'. That same road I keep going on about. When I got there they were on go. I stopped and pulled into the side. I waved cars past me u til the lights finally went red. The French have a great system with countdown timers on red lights like this. I waited patiently until the timer ran out and then off I went.

This turned out to be a genius move as I was able to have the road to myself all the way back to the village 🤘

In an added bonus. A z750 pulled up next to me while I was waiting and followed me into the first couple of corners.... I didn't see much of him after that 😎.

I pulled over at the roundabout at the entrance to the village and after plenty long enough to be pleased with myself, he turned up.

He pulled over " you are English?. You, you are fucking fast, I nearly crash trying to stay with you" 😂 😂 😂

Paris Metro train announcements.

They don't bother with the "The next station is..." bit, they just say the name twice with different inflections. One time as you're approaching and then a second as you actually pull in.

Châtelet...?

(Oui)....Châtelet.

The neighbours over the road in the big house are having a 30th wedding party here at the golf club
Jules just introduced me to one of her attractive friends.
She said "This is Yorick, he lives opposite our house"

The reply "So you're the gorgeous neighbour? "

Awkward smiles from Jules :obscene-birdiedoublered:

It's the little things.
New windscreen wipers on my van.
Been driving about for a bit thinking my screen was manky with site dust.
Nope, just old wipers.

I'm easy pleased.

That happens when I'm cycling. I just lock it before I set off.

Happens to me too when I'm cycling.

Just before I hit the deck.

If I'm navigating in landscape and the phone rotates to portrait then it's frigging annoying!

:D

I bought a cheap ass Chinese phone and it doesn't matter if it's locked to portrait or not, sometimes it decides!

Same with wifi annoyingly. Even when I've purposely switched the wifi off. It will turn on and connect to my van :angry-cussingblack:

I need new snowboard boots for winter. They usually cost around €300- €400 a pair.

I just bought some used, immaculate Burtons, exactly the same as I've had in the past, £75 :)

Just got an email asking for the required paint colour for my new studio. Also new equipment request has had funding officially approved and the request has moved to procurement! Could have done with all this 10 years ago, but at least its finally happening!

They told me there was a boat. I was expecting rib. this is NOT a rib (moped for scale)

Image

There's two of these huge buggers

All aboard

It's obviously been taken out of the water for the winter. Maybe I need to look into getting my boat license for next year ?
