Turning on the telly last night, to scoff at a program whereby various people are judged on how well they've groomed a certain breed of dog. I pressed the 'i' button to see which obscure channel I was watching this rip-off of a rip-off, third-rate televisual dirge on, only to discover it was BBC1. Prime time on a Thursday night and the Beeb has decided the best it can come up with is a show where people get judged for how well they trim a fucking dog's hair.

Lord Reith must be spinning like a fucking top in his grave....

There seems to be a growing inclination to cancel TV licences as they fund the BBC, so I’m told. As there are no detector vans anymore and anyone who knocks at the door has no automatic right of entry, doesn’t seem a bad idea.

My F-I-L is trying to be a licence martyr as we speak with red letters turning up regularly. I told him that as pensioner sat indoors all day, him and the M-I-L should bloody well pay double.

Is that the one with Sheridan ‘it’s all about me’ Smith in it?

My gripe? What I’m going to call the F.A.F. Aka the Friday Afternoon flurry where people decide that they need to appear busy so send out loads of emails asking for updates / dumping shit on others’ ‘desks’ to clear their own task list before the end of week to make them feel better but fucking up someone else’s chance of achieving the same.

Our Admin manager is the worst at this, who the fuck cares at 3.00pm on a Friday afternoon that you need some data ASAP that you’ve sat on your arse over for three days and needs sorting by 5pm on Monday.

I've just cancelled mine. I only used to watch the football, then all the footballers started genuflecting to St George Floyd before every match so I stopped watching. I haven't missed it.

If this post is diffiult to read, see my thread the computah help section. STicky keys has anew meaning thanks to a beverage incident.

T-mobile sucks and othershit that happened today. I gota threatening letterregarding an outstanding bill with t-mobile yesterday. "final notice" at the top. fuckin' hell, itwas the firstnotice. I droppedthem due totheir shit quality back in the summer. They hit mewith a charge to my credit card in July that I thought wasout ofline as I had switched carriers end of June. In a lentthy phone call with T-Mobile and AT&T on conference call I found out htat t-moblie lets businesses have theirbilling doneafteruseage rather than before usage, if that makes sense. This was after monthsof them attempting to rob me for the cost of equipment I'd actually returned, finally found collecting dust on ashelf after repeated phone conversations and an in person visit by yours truly to the store where the afoerementioned gearwas collecting dust.

After wasting the damn day on all of this I went to the bank tomake seom depositsand get some rolls of change for my office cash register. Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. This was at a driveupwindow with a narrow lclearance while in a Ford F250 pickup. I had toflip one of the mirrors in to clear the wall and the gubbinsfor the other lane. The teller put the rolled coinage inhte drawer and sent it out my way. Three of the rolls rolledout the edge and landedon the tarmac next to the truck. I opened the door against the building and squeezed out to find the roll of nickles had shat itself. Gatheredallll theloosechange up and squeezed back inthe truck. Trnasaction completed, I headed home. I had all four rolls of coins in my hand as I grabbed the handle to open the door. Several of the quarters made abreak foritand fell into the confines of the doorhandle. It forms a bit of a tray wiht recesses too small for fingers. I ran inside and grabbed some forceps to pick the fuckers out of the recesses. apparently thereare two orthree nickels that made it through some of the recessesand arenow rattling around in the deep recesses ofthefucking door.So I'll have to takeitapart to silence them.

There was a bit more of BMP shit today but the keyboard shit is also BMP,so fuckit. I had a bunch of stuff that neededto be done today, but allthe other shit neededto be dealt with first.

That ones bad on building sites where a lot of the gaffas are work8ng away from home and they compile a shitload of fucking stupid complaints/questions then send em from a motorway service station on the way home just so it looks like they're still on site.

Would be a lot more convincing if they actually walked about on site with their eyes open and brain engaged cos some of the stuff they ask about has already been done or more often theres another trade thats holding the job up.
Plus they don't seem to think the trades talk about work to each other and they try to get us in too soon saying xyz is starting on Monday so we need to do whatever before they start.
If there's one thing I've learned over the years its always ask the guys who will be doing the job so we ask them when they'll be on it and its often "Monday? Naaaah, no chance. it'll be Wednesday at the soonest".

That way we know we don't have to drop everything else to do a job where its not that pressing.

Of course we're not perfect either and I'm sure someone will come along shortly to tell me a heap of subcontractors dodges...

Ebay. They've locked me out of my account and I have to phone them. Happily they're open 24/7 for phone calls. That's the 24 hours between 8am and 10pm. And they're currently closed.

I can't do anything by online chat, it has to be done by phone and they won't call me. Only Paypal are a bigger bunch of twunts when it comes to customer service.

Drop a quick reply:

"If you need this urgently, come over and see me. Otherwise, if you think it's not urgent, we'll sort it on Monday."

My brother once told me that whenever he felt depressed he would listen to a Leonard Cohen song. It made him realise that there was always someone, somewhere who was having a worse day than he was. One of your posts would have the same effect.

Thank you for making my day seem a whole lot better. ;)

PayPal locked my account out recently, due to suspected political activity. :wtf: I had to sign an online declaration saying it wasn't true. Funny thing was, I could accept payments but not make them. So i think that must mean I can take bribes, but not make them?

Funny you should say that, there was an article in the paper today about the similar distinction in use of insurrection and revolution, the latter suggesting approval... :)
