Love Death Robots, on Netflix.

Sci Fi animated anthology series, some funny, some fairly adult, horror.
Well worth a watch and if you've read much Sci Fi you'll recognise a few short stories youve read.
Just looked at the wiki page. There's two episodes written by Neal Asher. I flippin' loves Asher. He loves a giant crab, in the Polity books they've been at war with giant crabs called Prador.

He likes Scorpion war drones too :)

I've already seen one episode in series 3 with a giant crab, think it was called Bad Travelling?

Anyway, it was good.

Deep Water. Started to watch it once before but bailed on it. We were told we should have stuck with it as it gets better and darker as it goes on. Watched it all the way through last night but it was utter crap. 0/10 I thought Ben Affleck looked like Simon Cowell.

If youve got Disney then The Mandolorian.
It's basically a western in space.
Far less irritating than most Star Wars stuff and the music is more spaghetti western style.
Not John Barry orchestra either, jeez how I hate that music.

Don't be silly. We all know Westerns should be filmed in Spain 🇪🇸

Stranger Things Series 4 - holding up
The Boys Series 3 - very much a gore fest with a convoluted and not very inspired story

The Outlaws on iPlayer is excellent. Another SM classic.

Julia (on Apple TV I think) with Niles from Frasier is OK if not a tad twee.

A vote for Outlaws here too. LOL funny at times. First series was  and the second looks like the standard has been kept up. (Am rationing it rather than binge watching. 2nd series won't make much sense if people haven't watched the 1st).

Love, Death and Robots.

A series of sci-fi shorts, so far beautifully animated and funny to noire.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

The Pacific.

Oldie but damn does it show the brutality of war, along with the bravery of people

Watched 2 episodes of Sherwood (BBC). Pretty good so far. A murder procedural but drags all sorts of history stuff up in a Notts (ex)mining community. Funny hearing people calling someone 'duck' or 'miduck' on TV. Also funny when you know something about a place ie that railway station isn't on the line they're talking about and the line doesn't actually go from Nottingham to Newark. Wonder why they don't just use the locations as they are instead of creating a new geography?

Still shudder when they talk about 'scabs'...a word to use with care in UDM country.

I didn't really like The Pacific. I never felt as engaged with the characters like Band of Brothers, which is one of the best mini series ever imo.

Maybe I should revisit it?

I watched Zero Dark Thirty last night cause it came up for free on Amazon.

It made me fair nostalgic it did. Well, nostalgia ain't the right word but it struck me how quickly the war on terror, extraordinary rendition and CIA black sites have fallen out of the public consciousness. It's rapidly becoming history you just read about!

Then I remembered what happened in Afghanistan last year and I was left thinking "well that was all a bit pointless then". I doubt the film makers foresaw how things panned out. All a bit fucked up really.

Film was alright though. I suspect it takes big liberties with the facts but I did at least watch the whole thing without getting bored by kid's explosions and silly costumes, which is a thumbs up from me. :obscene-birdiedoublered:

21 Bridges. Very good in the usual preposterous story way!
