Re: utterly random picture thread.
It was fifty-four years ago yesterday, on August 23rd 1970, that the late Lou Reed played his last gig with the Velvet Underground. After leaving the group Reed spent two years working as a typist - for $40 per week. However his music career eventually picked back up and continued to flourish until his death in 2013.
Lou was also a passionate photographer and rarely travelled without a camera - you can see some great examples of his work here: https://www.adamsongallery.com/loureed

Cool shots. B&W pics sit perfectly with my notion of Lou Reed.

Margaret Bourke-White who died on this day, August 27th, in 1971.
She was the first foreign photographer permitted to take pictures of the Soviet five-year plan, the first American female war photojournalist, and one of her photographs (of Fort Peck Dam) featured on the cover of the first issue of Life magazine.
This iconic image of her on the Chrysler Building was taken by her assistant Oscar Graubner.

Two and a bit tins of Hammerite satin black. Matches the light fittings, appliances and the cupboard/drawer handles now.
