Rode my bike home in the dark. What with the covid outbreak, furlough, and the reduced working hours on-site, this was the first time I'd ridden a bike in the dark, well, since covid broke out. Man, I need a new visor!

I've taken a picture, to prove once and for all, that I have the most comfortable seats...

Image

Heated and vented.

They don't have the optional inflatable bolsters that squeeze you when you go round corners, which is a shame.

I changed my mind BTW - my Saab 900 actually had the most comfortable seats of any car I've been in. I forgot.

I didn't know you were an architect.

Ex BT Transit driver's seat for the win.

But then of all the vehicles I battered south I've not yet found an uncomfortable one. No sense, no feeling.

Meh, mine are heated & vented (marvelous addition) and have adjustable bolsters. Still not as comfy as a Transit.

Well, today's comment is - Gravity wins, accept and stop fighting!!!

Wasn't a great day anyway, and then I fell over in my apartment - I've always said I can fall over fresh air on a flat floor in bare feet; not dissimilar to that but managed to catch toes on my left foot in my right pj leg and went down. Hard :( Not head first, but a head doesn't sound good when it hits ceramic tiles hard even if it isn't the first thing to land! :o :o :o

Called the emergency line but it seems that "I've fallen, hit my head hard and have a cut that's bleeding a lot and needs stitching" (all in French!) didn't raise any red flags to the operator or the doctor they put me onto, so after I'd been on hold a bit after talking to the doc I went back to the switchboard  By then a friend had arrived for moral support so she drove me down to the hospital in the valley - only 20 mins wasted to a 999 equivalent operator

I do realise I go on a bit about how good the healthcare is here (I've never dialed emergency before but I know that in the past they've been great, must have had a newbie on the phone this evening) but the timescale was -

Fell at approx 18:25
Called emergency at 18:35 (took a while to remember the number - only after I dialed 112, it showed in my phone so I've saved the number!! LOL - but I guess headbutting the ground is a reasonable excuse for not remembering that!!)
Left for hospital at 19:00
Arrived at emergency reception desk at 19:50
Into treatment room before 19:55 and being 'checked into the system' ready for the doctor
Stitches (x5!!) finished by 2010
Some paperwork - need to get a nurse to come and take out the stitches and had the tetanus check thingy
Home by 21:10

Given that it's approx 45 mins each way to the hospital, I'm freaking amazed to be home already!!!!

Feeling a bit hurty and very stupid. Worse, i tried to prevent the fall with my right hand, so have pulled something in my right hand and all the muscles in my right arm have spasmed :( :( Can't lift it much more than before the second op :( :( :( At least I'm seeing the physio on Friday, so hopefully he can put some life back into the muscles, cos, you know, he's magic!! LOL

And, who knew they can do a quick finger prick blood test to see if you need a tetanus jab?? I'm guessing that at some time I've had a 'fairly' recent tetanus booster, I can't actually remember, but I must have done cos I didn't need one tonight - although she did say that I need to get a booster in 3 years! (They do it every ten years here). So that was the good thing that happened! My tetanus is ok :D :D

Slightly gory photos, pointless post without them!! I know the saying is that chicks dig scars but I'm kinda hoping that scars don't scare guys :( :(

It feels a bit like it!! But definitely self/floor inflicted :) It seems to be healing well. Stitches are keeping it together  My hand isn't so happy, very swollen to the edge (caught it on something that was leaning on the wall, so think I strained a soft tissue or something!!). Can't face another trip down the mountain, so I'll ask the physio tomorrow what he thinks!!

Nothing to do with parapente or any other sport! I'm generally better off doing a sport/hobby!! If I can trip over my own feet, I might as well get on and do anything else I fancy!! LOL

Me too. My sister has been telling my I'm dyspraxic for some time now (her daughter is, so she's done a lot of reading about it!! LOL) - It would explain the stupid falls and bumps cos, when I'm concentrating on sport or something more involved (than walking to the bathroom!!) I seem to be fine!!!

Hey ho!
