I agree. I'm sure they're excellent pieces of kit. But my concern is the weight; 233kg wet is getting out of my comfort zone these days. Every review I've read praises them highly. If I was 20 years younger, I'd be in the market for that.

I think the sweet spot for 'classic' values is the empty-nester who finds himself flush with cash and has a hankering for the stuff he lusted after but couldn't afford as a youth. These days that puts 70's-80's stuff top of the pile.
Post-war stuff is no longer desired as the people who had 'em as youngsters are either too old or have gone to the great workshop in the sky.

Compare the price that machine to an 80's pocket rocket in lairy colours.

Yes, it was a twin 45. The bike belonged to one of my mates. He built it in the August of that year, rode it to Stormin' the Castle for the bike show and won something. This would have been on the Saturday. On the Monday I went to make an offer on it only to find the angle grinder had come out and it was already chopped up. In readiness for the next build.
My mate is a serial bike builder. He can build a one off complete bike in days. Not weeks. I have painted bikes for him so when he started the next project he announced that I would not be needed as it was not going to be painted. So he built a stainless bike with twin Webers!







He is a lovely bloke but as mad as a box of frogs when it comes to bikes.
