Well....funny you should say that. I'm currently trying to get them sent to my private doc.

Have to say the NHS didn't fill me with confidence. The Doc was quote concerned that my left and right collar bones were at such differnet heights in the CT scan. Until I pointed out the radiographer asked me to lie at an angle in the machine

I went back home to get some stuff and stopped in to see some friends up there. I had to leave quite fast cos I suddenly remembered that I'd put some sausages in the oven about mid morning when I made breakfast. I only put them in cos they needed using, so didn't have a plan of when to eat them

Sadly, the continuing lack of smellability and lack of plan meant I forgot to take them out before I left

Luckily I didn't burn the chalet down. But I've never seen such thoroughly cooked sausages :( :(

Our old neighbour liked his sausages well done but I think even he would balk at those.

We've done a walk on the SW coast path near The Strangles. 900ft of climbing and descending in 3 miles.

Then we went for a walk on the beach as the weather rolled in.

Carbon is good for absorbing noxious flatulent gases, and the French like suppositories.

There's a marketing opportunity for you right there.l

As my mum would say, pour a bit of Bisto over them and you'll never know the difference.

Suffice to say, my mum never worked in the catering trade, thank God.

Officially got the 'rona. Happens to the best of us I suppose :(

I feel basically fine, it's Mrs. D who's actually got proper symptoms. We've both been double jabbed and both had positive lat flows too, I tested mostly out of solidarity. I don't even mind that much, I generally WFH, the annoying thing is that we were due to have some building work start on Monday. S'been a right ballache finding someone and even getting this far, now it's all up in the air again

Intalled a Bosch washing machine at my Mum's house. It's quite easy really - connect the waste hose, connect the cold fill, remove the transit bolts - good to go.

Did you loosen off the fabricated bolts?

You're better than me, I'd not do it I think.

Replaced a burnt power socket. I was expecting a mess of burnt out wires behind but very pleasantly surprised, now I have no idea why the old one burnt out as I had to replace the fuse on the dishwasher but now everything seems to work fine

Bodged a sliding chopsaw back together. It's a two speed Rexon thing that came to me as broken. An obvious burnt resistor meant the speed control board was u/s. So it's now a one speed chop saw. It'll do nicely for fire wood.

Mum died on Thursday, she'd been ill for some time so it was expected. There's good news though, the embalming was successful so I've just returned from viewing the body. The viewing is necessary as she'll be brought to the house tomorrow for people to pop by and pay their respects.

The joy of an Irish death and funeral.
