Wouldn't want to pay the P&P either.
I reckon it'll not make great coffee anyway.

Very tidy, does it need anything doing to it, or will it just work?

Nice, it'll be one of the things I'll start snouting for when these interesting, challenging and difficult times become boring, simple and easy.

What is it? I was looking at all the positive reviews of Harley Benton's a few months back and remembering just how terrible my first 2 late 70's copies were
To be honest they're all good.

The most surprising, because of the price, is the Harley Benton strat kit https://www.thomann.de/fr/harley_benton ... xPEALw_wcB Now I imagine quality control is a little bit variable at that price, so maybe I was lucky, but as you say the reviews are decent and it's only 55 quid. You can't really even complain about the pickups - they're ok - and the strings are fine for setting up. Hilariously, for one extra quid you can get one (presumably made out of the same parts) that they've finished the body colour on, assembled, and 'set up' for you https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton ... series.htm I only really bought the kit one because of boredom and I wanted something to practice some fret levelling on (yes it did need a few doing) so I wouldn't have to see the mistakes on my vintage Yamaha SG510.

I've also got an HB electro-acoustic https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton ... sce_ns.htm which is stunning and a Squier Afinity Telecaster, also really good value. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Squier was made in the same factory as the HB stuff. None of them are over 200 quid - although to be fair I threw a few quid at the tele because (a) it's worth it (b) I can't stop fiddling with it.

I assembled one, as a kit, over Christmas really to see how awful it might be and because the length of the Christmas break can be well boring ;)

Yeah the electronics are at the cheap end but I was expecting real out-of-the-cracker quality. These are definitely light years of the cheap stuff you could get in the 80s.

The end result is playable enough, after some fiddling, and I can have some fun making it 'better' without worrying about devaluing it.

I have 3 Harley Bentons now.

1 TE90 in VW finish
1 Amarok in black
1 Agufish Signature

Really amazing not just for the money I've been super impressed.

Well it’s home - getting off the trailer might be interesting as it too high for my crane.

A plan will be hatched for the weekend. I think I can rope it around the girdle lower down - I’ll need a guide rope to stop it tipping forward too much - then drive the trailer out.... I think 🤔

Let the tyres on the trailer down? Remove the wheels completely and move the trailer out on the hubs?

Tyres down isn’t enough - wheels off... hmm that would likely damage my epoxy floor...

I think my plan of lower strapping will work.. if not I may be able to get a teleporter up here with forks on... I know a local farmer, and he has one.

I love it! I'm running amps and IR's into the fx loop of my JVM410c which sounds great*. Currently for my heavy rythym sound I'm running 4 mesa heads into two different cabs (IR's) which then mix into the output. I'd never have that sort of equipment variety at my disposal to just 'try'.

Usability is really good and I'm yet to hit any limitations. Maybe there is too much choice. And I do find myself referring to the manual to know what amp/pedal is what etc but that's not really a criticism.

*I've not used it cranked up or with a band, so what I think sounds awesome at low volume my myself may tun out to be a massive muddy mess :D

That's a smell that takes me back. It was sort of horribly medicinal, in a really nice, comforting way. :eh:
