I drove mine yesterday with the radio off, in sports mode for half an hour just taking in the composed acceleration and braking noises, they've done a good job of it. I don't know why all the reviews says it rubbish and turn it off.
You know those birds who've had plastic surgery: fake tits, fake arse, fake lips, etc.
Fake. Maybe that's why.
You're completely kidding yourself if you think a modern ICE vehicle is any more real.
You're kidding yourself if you think my car doesn't have a real petrol engine that makes real petrol engine noises. Yes, the manufacturer may have tuned the exhaust and intake to make pleasant petrol engine noises but it's still real.

Yes. Loads of them also don't own up to the fact lots of the exhaust noise is fake.
I think it was the Renault Clio that you switch between loads of different vehicle sounds, including the Nissan GTR.
Fords have FENG.. Fake Engine Noise Generator, even the V8 Mustangs... The Explorer ST has it, it wasn't working one day & all I could of real engine noises was the godawful rattle of the direct injectors. Sounded like a diesel... which is odd, because when cruising on the freeway in the F350 it just purrs along with no diesel noises in spite of having a 7.3l V8 diesel up front. The injectors on that thing are the size of a large 'nana

The noise regs on modern vehicles are so stringent pretty much every OEM adds fake artificially generated engine noise in.
My car doesn't own up to it, but the "engine noise" gets louder and sportier when you put it in certain modes. It achieves this with no flaps, valves or pipes moving around, with no mechanical changes at all in fact....how do you reckon it does that eh?
It's only the fact that you know there's a piston engine under the bonnet which makes you accept the deception as somehow more legit.
I'd be willing to bet if Porsche launched a Taycan but gave it fake engine noise, fake gears and a whole load of fake press about a non existent twin turbo V8 loads of people would be taken in.

The top of the range Taycan is the 'Turbo S'

Does the additional sound come out of the speakers?
(Soundtrack effects are a bit like sticking a lolly stick in your bicycle spokes.

Sad times we live in, but nothing that can't be fixed with a decent x pipe system and a pair of cutouts

@Saga Lout What car is it? Make/model/year
[I suppose, to be fair, we need to know what year that version of the model was launched]
@Mr. Dazzle Does that fit your definition of 'modern'?

Mazda Mazda6 Tourer SkyActiv-G 165ps Sport Nav+ to give it its full name. 2019
I think the third generation Mazda6 was launched in 2012 and updated in 2018. It was discontinued in 2024

Err...the burny bit in napalm is petrol/diesel. (You can add polystyrene so it really sticks and phosphorus so it doesn't extinguish when the chap it's stuck to jumps into water - phosphorus poisoning is an added bonus. Ain't science wonderful?).
I suggest MF2000S, Watt! GT, SCALExtric R, Me-Ohm-Mi Cooper S and Flying Laptop M.

Drove past the scene of the multiple Tesla (I think there were 5) fires on the transporter yesterday. Full on Hazmat/OSHA clean up in progress with people in spacesuits putting stuff in metal barrels which they sealed & put on a truck. *clean energy*

I was about to say I don't think I've ever seen a burnt out car of any kind at the roadside but that's not true. A petrol Mini caught fire in the carpark at work last year.
America sounds well shit

Happens all the time here on the 14 Freeway, mostly at the 2000 ft ASL stretch by Vasquez Rocks* for some reason. It's known as "Car-B-Cue Mile"
* You've seen them in movies & on TV: StarTrek, Flintstones, Blazing Saddles etc

(Reuters) -British motorists can now lease a Tesla electric vehicle for just over half of what they would have paid a year ago, The Times reported on Monday, citing industry sources.
Tesla has been forced to offer discounts of up to 40% to car leasing companies to shift more units, the report said.
The discounts are also due to the lack of storage space for Tesla vehicles in the UK, the report said.
