They're the body styles.
Yup - it was just to expand on your 'Elliot Ness' description
They're just soooo cute.
But that doesn't really convey how small they are.

The outright lap record at Cadwell was held by a 250 Superkart for many years.
Dunno what the lap records are like for Legends cars but having watched them race at Brands Hatch they're not too shabby either. They look like Elliot Ness cars until you get up close and realise they're 5/8 scale. Bike engines and a lot of rubber.

Didn’t they use FJ1200 engines ?

Some do, others use ZZR11 engines

That was one option. They're gradually moving to liquid cooled engines I think.

NORA used to run Superlite races at some of their SM rounds.
They were very cool things - Fireblade engines were most popular I think.

Hideous!
+2. I like Guzzi customs but that's horrid.

That's fairly typical of what Ghezi & Brian churn out though

CB1100RS, with a sandcast paintjob and a funny seat.

Is that your comment, or the AI prompt which made the photo?

This popped up for sale on a Friendface group...
1960 Simson (AWO) rs 250, 11,990E!
It looks to my untrained eye like the crank is longitudinal like a BMW R series rather than the more traditional way most singles run.
Which makes it interesting imho (I'm off to google some more about it).
The shaft must make changing gearing a bit difficult.

It'll be a real slow shifter with that right side hand change.

I just spotted this on Friendface. I've never seen one before. It's like a (slightly) more modern GasGas Pampera.

Never heard of that either - I'd thought Montesa had been first with that concept with the 4Ride.

I think Gas Gas' Pampera was one of the first 'Trials' bikes with a proper seat and tank concept.

Quite right - first one to look good then.
