WHat about Hagon? They'll build a shock to your weight and requirements.
I've had Hagon shocks in the past and not been impressed by their build quality.
Marc from Brooks Suspension has also suggested Nitron (because he sells them) and has said the build quality is better than YSS and they do a good shock in the £700 - 800 range.
So my conclusions so far are if I want to spend under £400, YSS is best, if I want a £700 shock, I need to think about what I want.

Try to get the standard stuff set up properly. You might spend money on new stuff then still need it set up properly.

It's only got a preload adjuster, it's pretty basic, I've either got a bit too much preload or preload about right but it's bouncy because there's not enough damping - the bike has done 11,000 miles, so it might have been better when it was new.

Thought I'd have a fiddle with the adjusters when I got home from work, looked at it and there's 10mm of preload adjustment on the front and 8mm on the rear, so hardly worth bothering with, I've wound the adjusters right out and I'll see what it's like.

I must have been deluding myself when I thought I could tell the difference between single preload steps, my arse isn't sensitive enough to tell the difference in 2mm of preload, in threaded shocks I usually work in 10mm increments.

Sorry fellas, it’s a busy time at the moment and I don’t get much time to check messages and stuff.
But I can do really, really good deals on YSS shocks as well as being a K-tech and Nitron dealer.
YSS is great quality to be honest it’s just as it’s assembled in Thailand they save on overheads when compared to Nitron and K-tech.
It’s best to call me on 07977242526 during the day when I’ve got all the information in front of me and I can sort out some great prices for you.

Paul has done me an amazing deal on a top of the range YSS shock that I couldn't say no to, new shock has been ordered.

And it would have been even more amazing if you hadn't pointed out I got the decimal point in the wrong place! Thank you.

Bike is better handling with the preload as soft as it will go, but the rear damping is having trouble stopping the rear spring from bouncing about over a series of bumps, weirdly the front damping feels fine.

New rear tyre fitted yesterday, getting the rear wheel out and in is piss easy, definitely better than all of the old bikes I have, though I can't see why as the design is the same on all of them.

New tyre has made the handling better, running 37psi in the rear

Hurt my back so not going far today, thought I'd try my luggage out, took about 20 minuters to put the frame on the bike, they're quit wide, but you don't notice them when riding

Side on picture, what's the link between the aircraft and the bike?

Is it the black version of the bike being called Phantom?

The cockpit is an F4 Phantom?

Suzuki make Phantom editions of their bikes... which yours isn't one of?
