That'll proper show 'em ;)

Me and Mrs. G. went to a posh restaurant once. We arrived early in order to have a drink at the bar first. The waitress offered to take us to our table when we got there, so we declined and said we'd have said drink (maybe two!) before dinner. She did that sort of look that only posh waitresses can do and said, 'Ah, you have booked chairs at the bar'.
'No', I replied, 'but we'd like a drink before dinner'
'If you haven't booked, sir, I'm afraid we are fully booked in the bar tonight'

I should point out that the bar was empty, the barman polishing glasses looking bored.

We had several drinks at the table instead, had a lovely meal, but never went back. Fucking bizarre. You want to spend money on a couple of (over-priced) drinks but they won't let you.

Probably one of those places thst books seats at the bar for dinner. I booked a posh(ish) restaurant last week, and had to specify if I wanted a table or a seat at the bar.

'Brioche' buns.

(Been out for lunch. Went to a nice countryside place, rocked up to find a handwritten sign on the door which I read as 'Closed until Saturday due to stalking issues'. Walking back to the car I pondered what that was all about. Wife explains - 'Staffing issues you plonker'. :( )

Went somewhere else which reminded me of my *hoick, spit* view of the American, sugar loaded excrescence that is the 'brioche' bun. Just. No.

Nice meal though. :D

Next step, Luther burgers.

I've eaten them in Sicily, cut open and stuffed with the gelato of your choice.

For breakfast!

They're alright actually.

I did 'em with my mate who's well into "proper" BBQ. Burgers cooked over smoke, nice and er....smokey....with really thick, quite salty bacon and strong cheese. It's basically 'too far' in every direction of savoury, salty and sweet and all the better for it.

I remember thinking "is that it?" when trying it!

I expect they were proper brioche though, not the burger bun travesty that seems all the rage? I quite like the sound of an Italian gelato in a full butter and egg handy container. :D

Sodding ceiling fan remote has stopped working (after we had sparky fitting a car charger the other day), I'm hoping a battery change in the remote (which I've had to order) will sort it, otherwise I suspect the receiver has gone pop whilst he had to knock the power off.

There was a ceiling fan with lights in the front bedroom at chez new...seller was v. proud of it and demonstrated it for us. Muchly unimpressed, so was not upset when it failed four days after completion.
Swapped it out for a normal bayonet pendant.

Reason for failure?

Sparky had screwed onto the insulator....so eventually the single copper strand brushing the end of the cable burnt out.

Anyone need a flash LED/fan thingy with remote?

I've got 4 ceiling fans in the house, 2 working off remotes. With the summer heat here, they're preferred (by me) to the aircon.

I've had one remote fail, the bit in the fan itself rather than the handset but picked one up from amazon iirc when I was in the UK. Easy to fit and no issues since.

I also broke at fan blade a bit back but couldn't find any spares on line so I made a set of 3 out of plywood. They work fine.

Met up with a friend on Thursday eve, she told me "I've been a bit sniffly, but I've done a test and it's not covid"

On Saturday I started to get cold symptoms, I figured I'd caught her cold. I met up with a couple mates and we went to a halloween gig.

Sunday eve and the friend from Thursday " I've just tested again, it's covid ". I was feeling a bit rough but had put it down to a slight cold and the fact that we all got battered and sang along very badly for quite some time.

I've tested this morning and it's bloody covid. So that's me stuck in my small campervan, in Cornwall. I have to be grateful for what I do have, my friend lets me stay at his place, no-one else living here and I have toilet and shower. I also have 180 degrees view over the moors. Unfortunately 180 degree views means there is zero wind protection. I've been through this here before, no matter where on the drive I park, my van is getting battered if there's any wind or rain, as it's Cornwall in October, there's plenty of both.

I can't work either which is doubly shit as they need me and I kinda want the money !

Good news for you lot is that I'll have loads of time to post on here !

Bloody Instagram, they've suspended my account for some reason, no idea why, I fail to see how pictures of beaches, dogs, MTB's and the Sarf Dahns contravene any rule. Now waiting on their 30 day account reassessment, not hopeful. Wankers!🤬😡
