Any reason for not having your tyres changed during your European trip?

I used to do the same, in that I changed tyres before going on a long trip, even though I would never refit the tyres I removed to get the 1000 to 1500 miles left on them.

There seems to be many more bike tyre shops and fitters in Europe than in the UK. I have had tyres changed in Ljubljana, Bratislava and Bordeaux whilst on trips, for less than the cost in the UK. So a win-win.
If something won't do the distance of the trip I'd rather get it sorted before I leave, also he's an old mate so I always give him my business.
He did me a pair of Road 6's,90 degree valve stems & fitting, ride in ride out for £350.
I'll be back there with my Street Triple in a couple of months.

Fair enough, but I recently got a pair of Bridgestone T31's on the Street Triple for €200 fitted, ride in ride out
Not the pair I wanted, but they were the only tyres he had in stock that weren't someone elses order, so beggars can't be choosers. They've been good though, good grip and wearing well, which is a plus.

I’ve a couple of rides recently.

1st was to a popular cafe for bikes and cars near Shipston on Stour called Revs.
This a pure vanity destination, as there was a photographer there taking pics of folks, and in the near 40 years I’ve been riding I have never had a picture of me on a bike.

Not sure the pic was worth it but the route the Beeline took me in Relaxed mode was excellent, great single carrigeway routes with almost no other traffic.

Pic style copyright of Bustaspoke, I’ve been meaning to try one of these shots for a while.

Today’s ride covered Warkwickshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire for a coffee and Jammy Dodger Blondie cake at the canal wharf in Aynho.
Again the Beeline Relaxed mode turned out a great route with the 45mile trip taking nearly an hour and half.
Passing through small villages, past farms, along old ridgeways with views of rolling countryside that probably haven't altered much in centuries.
Then this appears as a reminder of the 20th century, apparently it was originally part of the old BT microwave communication network like The Post Office Tower, a network of line of site relays around the UK.

Eleys sausage rolls and pork pies are lovely, the pasties are just a mash of god knows what, horrid.

There's toilets just passed those brollies, if you didn't know.
