They make their own movements now, I almost bought one a couple of years ago and I wish I had, they seem to have gone up by about 50% now - or maybe that's just UK prices vs prices here, not sure.

I’ve always liked the look of the novelty watches, but having a couple (not the above), they never get any wear time. That would put me off a meistersinger.

They can charge whatever they want really, people will buy them.
A Patek 5711 is currently going for about 3x MRRP on the secondhand market, so Patek could double the price in their stores and they'd still sell.

I had exactly that a couple of weeks ago when I was wearing a Patek, I was sat opposite a bloke over a business lunch and he asked me if it was a Citizen. I think the measuring device must have come before the complicated tiny mechanical pieces in a watch.
If you haven't got the skills to make a measuring device then you're not going to have the skills to make a small mechanical part.

I really like it, the solid silver case looks quite different from stainless steel. I could definitely see myself wearing one of those.
Don't know about the price but I would wager that it's a pretty sensible purchase in terms of minimal loss (and probably potential gain) if you sold it in the future.
Cheaper and nicer than a Rolex Sub anyway.
