I'd have one of these. But I'm pretty sure they're either unobtanium or priced stratospherically or both.

Is that a Honda copy of a BMW, with a two stroke single motor?mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 8:39 pm I'd have one of these. But I'm pretty sure they're either unobtanium or priced stratospherically or both.

It's a 98cc two-stroke Honda Dream D-type. Honda's first production motorcycle.

I dare say some good condition Vincent Black Shadows were still available in 1958, so I'll take one of those. My dad had a Comet, so there's a nostalgia factor:

Re: What bike from your birth year ?
Don't
Even the kudos of a pop up headlight wears thin after 20+ miles of early 80s ergos and suspension.

I owned a 900SS about 40 years ago, I wouldn't want to ride one again.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:25 pm Lets play this game again (rather than mess up Dern's thread)...

Can someone lend me £29k?
I don't think I'd like any bike from 1958 either.
Re: What bike from your birth year ?
As my 1st bike was a Yamaha DT 175 , then my 1st road bike was a Yamaha DT 50 and after passing my tests my 1st ‘big’ bike was also a Yamaha FZR600, this fits the bill nicely.

I'd quite like a BMW r69s from the mid 60's to pootle around on but as things stand I might end up with my dad's Brough from his birth year which would be cool

Re: What bike from your birth year ?
My Troll is registered 1964 but the manufacture plate states 1963 which is my birth year.
I would rather have a 63 Gold Star but as i own this it will have to do.
