Re: 'Spoons
A general rule of thumb for us is, you'll always get acceptable food in a Spoons. A second rule of thumb is a spoons in a shittown is best avoided as it'll be full of toothless drunks, and a spoons in a nice town is best headed for cos it will be less so.
Re: 'Spoons
I once saw 2 mass brawls in half an hour in there one night
The Cross Keys in Peebles has a couple of steps up to the bogs, does that count? Not on the next floor, technically. It's also quite a nice one. Been put up for sale though.

I've been in the one in Northwich, Cheshire - the toilets are on the ground floor, same as the bar (pic stolen from google maps).

Re: 'Spoons
Only one I've been in recently is the one in Norwich Riverside - I have to plan a piss a pint in advance, takes that long to get to them!
Re: 'Spoons
Wetherspoons in Peterlee has a downstairs bog. You can often find used hypodermic needles in the bogs, or under the tables in the cosy little booths. I sometimes use the 'Spoons in Seaham, the bogs there are upstairs. Ruddles is £1.71 a pint, the guest ales are £2.55

Re: 'Spoons
Spoons I've been in with bogs on the same floor as the bar (downstairs) as far as I can remember.
Wembley High St
Clacton
St Albans
Don't mind a Spoons. Like Taipan generally they provide half decent food and a pint at a good price. Some are more skanky than others but generally you know what you are getting and they are usually fine.

Re: 'Spoons
The remaining ones in Sunderland, Cooper Rose ground floor and first floor, and William Jameson - no idea, only been in once, which was enough and rapidly decamped to higher brow Yates…
Not stepped foot in one since the start of lockdown when Tim “cuntface” Martin initially outlined he wouldn’t pay furlough and his staff should go and work in Tesco. Despicable cretin.

The great eastern in Liverpool Street ….ok in a slightly mental way….can get a bit lively on Saturday nights when half of Essex come to “Shoreditch” bogs on the ground floor …
