So, the dealer called today. Not good news I'm afraid.

The tank has a crack in it, near a mounting part or bracket.

Apparently not seen before, so they're trying to source a replacement within the Uk, or it's wait for Giuseppe to get back to work and order one from MG Italy.

Not especially happy about this, but I'm glad they found the fault. If I wait too long, I'm going to request a healthy discount on the first service. After all, I'm losing out on tax and insurance.

Time will tell....

New tank being installed today and with a fair wind, I'll have the bike back on the 15th. I have asked for a discount on the first service. They're not overly receptive, but 'will see'.

She's back! All fixed plus a new battery, as they were unhappy with it's ability to hold a charge.

They've also given me 50% discount on the next service.

All in all, they're a decent outfit and I'll happily go back to them.

Now for some dry days!

Just back from a couple of hours ride. Really enjoying the bike. It drops into corners with no fuss, bags of torque low down and the aero stuff works surprisingly well.
Hope to get out again on Friday. Need to get to 900miles and complete the running in process. Limited to just 4500 rpm until then.

You're better than me, I just rode normally except knocking off any banzai moments.

Did a country lane route today. About 60 miles all told. Bike's covered in shit, but I'll enjoy cleaning it tomorrow. Handles really well, the oem tyres are fine.
Rear shock needed a bit more preload, after which the rear settled down.
All in all, I'm pleased to have taken the plunge with this bike.

On cleaning the bike today, I found that both the rear brake and gear levers have cam systems that allow you to raise or lower the rubber and peg. Pretty neat I thought.
