Thinking of getting some myself, just as somewhere to keep cash. The odds seem pretty piss poor TBH, but savings interests rates are also piss poor!
Everything is piss poor at the moment. The government are borrowing money left right and centre but lending to them gets piss poor returns

2 x £25, but I’d cashed 1/2 of mine in this month, a couple of wins to tempt me to put money back in perhaps?

It'd be nice if that were the case, think how much money you could make by gaming the system. Sadly ol' Ernie is random isn't he?

It is, but my Step Dad is convinced cycling money through the account gives you more wins and he’s being playing PB’s far longer than I have.

I’ll have to check what the total is, but I’m assuming it’s generally proportional to what you all have in?
Its fixed odds per bond isn't it? AFAIK they adjust the number of winners so that every bond (£1 each IIRC?) has the same odds of winning. More bonds owned - i.e. more money in there - means higher chances.
I read a thing about how to work out the effective I interest rate (think it was on money saving expert) and apparently the fact they have multiple prizes makes it bloody complicated.

It is pants yes. All savings are pants at the mo.
I just found the money saving expert tool. It reckons 10 grand over 5 years would typically net you £450. 4.5% in 5 years.

My mates step mum does the same, puts all the money in, does one draw takes it all out. She's convinced it's better that way. Though unless she has the same amount again left in there all the time I don't know how she could know that removing and reinvesting is best. I suspect she wanted her way to be best so she tried it for a few months and over those few months it was, so now it's the truth.

With average luck.
I seem to have less than average luck at the moment, but there's always the possibility that you'll have above average luck and win one of the big prizes.
You don't get that 'chance' in a savings account.
It's just a safe(ish) form of gambling really.

For comparison...I've made more than £450 on ten grand's worth of investments in the last year alone.
I also lost thousands at the start of 2020 too, but let's not mention that

WRT the taking money in and out thing...you don't have to know anything about how the system actually works to think that it smells a bit.
If you could improve your odds by doing that there'd be a big market for doing so wouldn't there? If there was even the tiniest crack of a chance for beating random odds professionals would be on it like a wall street trader on a coke surely?

We are maxed on NS&I, get around £75-125/month
We have, in the past had a couple of 4 figure wins which bumps your return significantly.
We've averaged a 4% return over 4 years

We've only had £50 this year.
I keep telling the wife we should invest it in a Panigale instead.
