Wait, hang on...! Are we not supposed to do that?

Jeez, I'm fucked :(

I'm 50. Which is depressing on many levels, not least that I was in my 20s when I started posting on the previous, previous place.
I was 39 when started on the MCN site, just before Copius jumped ship and started VD.
When did VD start? I only vaguely know my join date cos it used to have it under your avatar - though can't recall if mine was 2001 or 2003.

43 here, but feeling every one of those years plus another 20 or 30 right now... 40 hit me HARD to be fair. We had just gone into the first lockdown, I got sciatica bad, then had a Stroke (no underlying reason, and fortunately no lasting damage), then various mental health issues and then at 42 got diagnosed with Bowel Cancer...

Looking forward to getting my health back! I won't take it for granted any more...

All this is quite ironic really, cos I've always had a very youthful outlook on life. I'd still be out clubbing most weekends if the body would take it (and I could find mates to do it with!), burning the candle at both ends...

Have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since my late twenties so have done pretty well up to now all considered .
Unfortunately the damage done by Arthritis and my recent health problems have caught up with me.
I am 60 in a few weeks and on Monday I am going to my first 'Bridge' lesson, make of that what you will.

I'm 68. I don't look it but I did once upon a time.
Physically, I'm fairly good, but as is common in a 1955 model, there are some scratches and dents in the outer bodywork and, recently, a few bits have been removed from inside, but nothing I'll miss.

Mentally, I was diagnosed with depression when I was 20, had tablets for 6 months and decided I'd prefer to try to control it without. I was weaned of them and haven't taken any since. Of course I do sink into the pit at times but have managed to crawl back out so far.

I neither want nor try to be young again but that doesn't mean I can't have playtime. A month ago I was riding on a fairground carousel and, of course went on one of the outer horses because they go faster then the others. I could hear my dead mother's voice saying "What will people think". I'll take my shoes off and paddle in the sea whilst eating an icecream. I'll climb a rope at a rope museum, just to see if I can still do it.(the answer was yes) My sister wouldn't make up her mind when she'd be available for our annual holiday so I said I'd go on my own. That was fun. She didn't believe me and neither did MrBB. I had a great time.

I'm conscious that I could live another 40 years (very unlikely but possible) or I could drop dead today. In that case, why am I wasting the little time I've got left typing on here? If you don't hear from me...................

44.
I have very much embraced my 'fuck it forties'. Not that I gave much of a fuck in previous decades tbf.

I don't feel 65, 35, 21, or 15, I'm just ambling along.

I joined VD back when I was 21 😱

I think some people are just born grown up and old.

I think you're right. I have a mate that has been about 50 going on 60 since i've known him and i think we met in about 1998 so he would of been in his early 20's back then.

He has smoked a pipe all the days i've known him, a proper old man wooden pipe, loves his oldskool Norton bikes and has never owned a car newer than about 2000 even with him being a big petrol head and mechanic.

He is one of those guys that can make anything out of anything. I remember being down his flat years ago and i forgot my bong, so he quickly knocked one up out of some new plumbing pipes he had lying around and an old pipe setup at the end.....we called it the V8 bong as it sounded like you were smoking from an fucking V8 engined bong!

Good times!

I'm an auntie with an age in between you two. I'm just sad that my niece and nephew are probably too 'grown up' to let me do that sort of silly with them now!!

52 years old and still amused by toilet humour and childish jokes, much to the disapproval of my wife.
Don't enjoy motorbikes anything like I used to but still have one in the garage just in case, still think I can do all the things I did as a youth until I try.
Last year or so my knees have started playing up - the end is near....

That sort of bus pass saved me about £6,000 in commuting costs before I retired.

Dont think i would be saving that much unless they start letting you use it on the trains again. The odd bus trip into Edinburgh to visit my sister or night out and that would probably be it. Well until the wife reaches 60, We will have bought a flask and tartan rug by then.
