Or at least until my OH can’t physically manage pillion anymore due to her arthritis problems. Just now a 200 mile day is fine for us and the R does that fine (excluding a spot of numb bum)

When that day happens I’ll be well into my 70’s and will either give up myself or get something lighter. It’s pretty heavy to shove about.

I often ask myself if I regret selling the GS? I have to hold my hand up and say yes but the R is a better bike for me. If I could have surmounted the stopping/pulling away problems I had I’d never have got rid. As much as some people scoff a GS is a fantastic do it all bike.

Anyway the R is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Besides, the wife’s been paying for these out her late dad’s house sale and I dare n’t say I’m not happy with this one. I think I’d be joining it out in the shed.

First ride of the year. Started first press of the button, but you’d expect that really.

Fitted the radiator guard that the OH got me for Christmas.

I put on a touring type screen on which horrifies some owners. The good point is I can sit at 80+. Bad point is it’s really noisy.
As this was my first naked bike for many years I might go back to the standard BMW sports screen and see how it feels. I think I just panicked when I got it as I wasn’t used to it.
