Only at the NW200  More shenanigans!...
And they've just declared the result
Time for Mervin to step aside, along with whoever is responsible for the decision making. They've done a good job in the past, but the debacle of this year has shown it needs fresh blood.

Good racing
After this year, I can't see that bloke coughing up a few hundred k again for the insurance.

And fair play to Faye Ho for letting Hickman find another ride, I can't imaginge Birdy doing that.
Find another ride? It was his own, as far as I’m aware he was always running those bikes in those classes, those are his own bikes built and run by his own team.

I think the statement about Faye Ho saying she was happy for him to continue or give permission was just said in such a way to show how sound she is.

Just a pity he’s lost valuable time on the big bikes but I’m sure he’ll be fine for the TT.

Yeah, but he's in Spain. iPlayer isn't available outside the UK.

You'll need a VPN to watch it, and then pretend to dial in from the UK.

Dunno, playing Devil's Advocate here but if I was a team owner, I'd want my employee to be concentrating 100% on my team without the risk of my employee splattering himself all over the scenery doing his side hustle. And to be blunt, to most team owners, the rider is just an employee. If PH wrecked himself today, they'd probably find another rider soon enough, but the team as a whole would be disrupted.

I'm thinking Kimi Raikkonen and the snowboarding stuff here.

Yeah totally understand that but I’m certain Peter and Faye have a great relationship with an understanding because Peter runs the PHR Triumph at most road races these days and will do the same with the R7 as well, it helps promote his own business.

I think the minitwin before was his own as well, I don’t think that was through FHO but I can’t remember if I’m being honest.

All the episodes are currently unavailable. That's probably what Yorick is seeing.

PH rides for Faye at the TT, but has always run himself/for someone else in the Super Sport and Super Twin events. It's always been the same for the NW (and TT) - she (and Smiths racing before them), had no interest in the SS600, or the Super Twins.

It's the same for most riders; I think only Lee Johnston is the only one who has a team that runs all categories under the same sponsor. Padgetts run all bikes apart from Super Twins, so I guess they're the same.

Well, she did it - Claire Lomas: Paralysed woman tops 80mph in superbike lap
A woman who is paralysed from the chest down has said taking part in a superbike lap made her "feel free".

Claire Lomas has been unable to walk since she was injured in a horse riding accident in 2007.

However, she reached speeds of more than 80mph (128km/h) on the North West 200 (NW200) course in Northern Ireland on Saturday.

Mrs Lomas, from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, said she "never dreamed" she would be able to do it.
Top stuff.

Why this wasn't picked up in scrutineering, earlier in the week, is the question of the moment.

Real shame as Faye Ho and her team are big supporters of the NW200.
Hasn't this happened before?

EDIT... oh yes... https://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/moto ... nt-4139573

"On Thursday, Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes were prevented from taking part in the Superstock race as their M1000RR machines were fitted with carbon wheels, which are not permitted under the regulations set by the sport’s governing body in Northern Ireland, the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre).

"The FHO Racing BMW team issued a statement which said they had ‘no confidence in the application of the Superstock technical regulations’."

Surely you read the regs before you enter the bike.

All this happened last year.

The regs state you must use stock wheels. The carbon wheels on the beemer are stock.

The regs also state no carbon wheels. When the team wanted to change to non carbon wheels, they were disallowed because they weren't stock. :wtf:

All this despite the fact the bike ran carbon wheels the year before with no beef from the rule makers.
