Geezer wants to get it serviced before handing it over. Booked in for Tuesday. Is this normal? Just extra diligent?

Sounds like he's a decent sort and maybe the service was already planned and he wants everything to be right.Docca wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 9:09 pm Geezer wants to get it serviced before handing it over. Booked in for Tuesday. Is this normal? Just extra diligent?

The plus side is,when you come to sell/trade Harleys have great residual value.rodbargee wrote: Sun May 07, 2023 2:41 pm IHired a heritage harley when we visited the states a decade ago it was slow hinged in the middle ( least that"s what it felt like) Frugal (I'll give you) Did I say it was slooow but nice for the day I hired it in its context, Arizona. CAnt imagine trying to hoon round Wensleydale on it. rather too expensive Even second hand there are soem in Catterick garrison for Sale no bargains thats for sure.

I chopped my Harley Davidson in for a Honda and now have a Guzzi. Really disliked the Harley after a year or ownership, but have already bonded with the Guzzi. Each to their own.Docca wrote: Sat May 13, 2023 4:53 pm Slight delay: it’s with the Harley dealer fitting a new odometer. Should be fitted Tuesday.
I have today however sold my Guzzi. Loved that bike.
Have you got it yet? Ride report?Docca wrote: Sat May 13, 2023 4:53 pm Slight delay: it’s with the Harley dealer fitting a new odometer. Should be fitted Tuesday.

To be fair, lots of people buy Harleys and love them initially, but then cant live with them and they sell them on. When I had my Sportster we had a lot of new members come and go on the facebook page.Docca wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 6:28 pm So the deal is off. A mix of waiting too long for it to be fixed ( which it now is) and other bikes needed to be lined up.
I have my eye on another one. Could pick it up this weekend. The guys only owned it since March though. Would that put anyone off?
Did one of the other members tell you that TP?Taipan wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 6:56 pm When I had my Sportster we had a lot of new members come and go on the facebook page.
Some people can be so fickle with bikes.Taipan wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 6:56 pmTo be fair, lots of people buy Harleys and love them initially, but then cant live with them and they sell them on.
