so warm the I couldn't be bothered to go out!
Just re-tape the rear wheel so it is now holding air !
(And removed the 1 million globs of gorilla tape glue left behind. I'm glad I bought a big bottle of acetone!)

23 miles on the EBike with Mrs M in hot pursuit on the Levo of Doom. The forest is getting bobbly so quite a few moments and also very warm+poor sleep limiting my HR. Nice dusty bikes when we got back.

Raced Ard Moors at the weekend. Far too hot for me, not much of a breeze, but the stages were great.

Just hit 6000 miles for the year. Got the Marmotte event to do at the end of June, hoping for decent weather.

I got lost at the back end of Stanmer today - coming down from Ditchling Beacon. Ebike over one 5ft fence, then another - and then had to escape over a barbed wire fence into the University of Sussex.
The University of Sussex was actually far worse to find my way around than Stanmer Park.
Up until that time it had been Eco all the way.
Turbo was engaged fro Brighton Seafront!

I went out for a gentle one, but with a difference, i was trying out the lads cleats/shoes.... Lets just say, we never gelled.. There's nothing at all i like about them !!!

I've done that, massively lost attempting to get from The SDW to Stanmer to get to work a few years ago, added about 4 miles onto the commute. Good job I'd left plenty of time to get to work.

Marmotte 2023, 185km, 18,000ft of climbing

My day started out well. Probably went a bit hard to the top of the Croix DeFer looking back but stuck with it. Col Du Mollard was OK and I really enjoyed the descent through all the hairpins. I had to push on a flat section to get into a group that I could see up the road as I was in a 'no-mans' land at the time and thought it would be better to invest a little to bridge the gap and then sit with the group up the Telegraph

At the top of the Telegraph the problems started. I don't usually suffer with cramp but had a twinge when getting off for fluids before the Galibier. I thought "no, not now, just get over the Galibier". About a mile and half from the top, everything started twinging, adducters, quads, hammies. It was pergoatory. I really didn't think I'd finish but decided to see how far I could go. In for a penny and all that. I had to stop a few times before the descent started.

On the downhill, I was shovelling gels/food/drink in as quick as I could to try and rectify the damage, it seemed to work until a few miles before the tunnels. My left leg cramped again so I had to unclip it whilst rolling along, it was stuck out at about 45 degrees and may as well been made of wood. "One last climb, come on lad, get up there".

The Alpe was next, just 21 corners to go. After about 4 bends, I had to stop, I was melting, legs were hanging in there but the heat up the final climb was mental. People were sat in the water pools on the side of the mountain, showering in cold water, riding up the wrong side of the road just to find shade, it was roasting. After stopping another half a dozen times, the road flattened off and the end was in sight.

I managed a sprint over the line just for giggles, and I've never been so happy to get off my bike, it was with out doubt, the toughest day on two wheels I've ever done.

Finish time was 8.04 which I'm really pleased with as at one point, I thought finishing wasn't even an option.

Congrats to everyone who did it whatever the time.

Lots of 'first time for a long time' things happening here tonight, no motor, 26" wheels, front mech, fiat pedals and 90 mins to do a route that takes me 60 on an eeb

No pics but 24 miles and 3500ft climbing on the e-bikes with Mrs M. Showed her the new waterworks DH trail some one has put in before smashing out a load of the trails in Friston, I was riding awfully, dropping my inside shoulder into corners and not looking round them but somehow managed to takes 5 secs out of 2min30sec trail to get a PB and 3rd overall.
