Brexit and the pandemic have been a godsend for CEOs when explaining failing businesses to the board - "It wasn't me, it's because of...".
I doubt its to do with Brexit, Avon has been Owned by Cooper Tires fromthe good 'ole US of A for years now.
The production facility in Melksham; a few miles down the road from me, was never that big for bike tyres. I had a tour round it about 12 years ago and was surprised how small capacity the bike tyre dept was even then.
I suppose you need to do deals to be the OEM Fitment on new bikes to get and retain volumes. I can't recall seeing many or any newbikes fitted with Avon tyres in recent years.
