Dunno why people think HDs are gay, they're a bit of a vaginal lodestone. Most wimmin won't know a Fireblade from a Firestick. They all know a HD.

I test-rode one of them a few years ago. It's utterly useless at everything except looking like a Harley (which it does brilliantly).

I'm pretty sure most women can't tell a virago from an HD. Nor would they care. Unless they're the bearded ones, necking newkie browns at biker festivals.

I've had a Virago and a Harley. The Virago got no attention anywhere. The Harley got lots of attention everywhere!

If I cant ride the MT-09 again, I think I'll go back to a Harley. Can't think of anything else out there I'd want and it'd be a perfect sunny day bike to accompany the SH300.

You either get Harleys or you don't. There's no middle ground. Yanks have an obvious affinity with them, but they also see them as a different type of bike. A guy I knew would race his Ducatis at willow springs one weekend, the next he'd be out on his Bagger or Sportster. He saw the Ducatis as great race bikes and the Harleys as great cruiser/bar hoppers. Over here we cant separate them and it's the proverbial apples and oranges comparisons.

If we had better weather more folk may go the HD direction. I quite like the look of some of them,but that's where it ends for me. I know a couple of ex racers who now toosh about on Harleys,they've done the whole race thing and just want something to cruise on.

If we had better weather more folk may go the HD direction. I quite like the look of some of them,but that's where it ends for me. I know a couple of ex racers who now toosh about on Harleys,they've done the whole race thing and just want something to cruise on.

Same as scoots. Not many Brit bikers get them either!

I do think they're one of those things you should own/try once in a lifetime. I struggle a bit with the, first you buy one, then you chuck half of it away and add new £bits to make it better/ /your own, thing though. I'd have to get a s/h one that someone else has done all that.

I honestly think the mindset is Harley sell you a blank canvas and you sort it out from there! When I picked my Sportster up the brakes were so bad i thought they had silicon spray on the discs! I chucked some cash at mine for sure. New front caliper. New front and rear suspension. New seat. New headlight. New tuning module (power commander type thing). Never minded spending a penny of it and loved every minute of doing it.

Haven’t seen much of the GS as it’s been tucked away in the garage. I had fitted some AX41’s a more off road biased tyre ready for whenever I went out next. Well that was today had 3 hours round the peaks. The tyres were better than expected but could be provoked to slide on tarmac. Off road they were great for the lanes I tried. The GS was good fun on and off road too, heated grips on full it was a chilly one

Well surprisingly or not this is going up for sale when I can be bothered to do an ad.

I don't think you can ever be totally done with motorbikes if it's in your blood! I've tried and failed!
Not had a bike for 18 months now but I know it's just a matter of time before there's one in the garage again. This BMW for sale has had me revisiting this page a few times .
I reckon there'll be another in your garage before too long as well Weeksy!
