I could not saw in a straight line also. Most of my problem was sawing up and down the drawn line. Once i switched to a flatter angle i never have an issue with wiggles now.

A flatter angle is much better for long straight cuts. The other trick with any cutting is to let the saw do the work. You have to move it backwards and forwards of course but you don't have to put in huge amounts of effort. That just makes the blade flex a bit and suddenly you're off line.

That reminds me of a conversation we were having with the guys at work, about builders squares.
