Depends what you'd do with the money instead. No point selling it if you'd just put it back in the bank.
It feels to me like you refuse to ride it just to make a point. You're allowed to enjoy riding it, that's perfectly acceptable
Not at all, i can continue to own it with no real financial consequence other than natural time related devaluation. So I can own and ride it, but the opputunity to do rarely presents itself, so even though I like the bike, the reality is it'll sit idle for most of the time and i simply cant see any point in that.
How often do you use your lawnmower? Or the posh gravy boat?
Precisely. They both have regular use and a valid worth, whereas the bike doesn't! You've illustrated exactly why it may as well go!

I think I've broke something on my SuperCommuterScooter and will have to strip it down tomorrow and have a shufti. If that is a case i'll have to use the F8R, so second job of the day is to refit the GPR end can!

Then try and get some air past the stupid bastard BMW valves and top the tyres up!

I'm almost hoping the scoot is bust!

My 'mate' is looking for something atm, is the bike interesting enough for a competent BAB or is it more a stepping stone bike.
He's just chopped in a FZ1 as it was 'a bit much'

Its about 70bhp down on a FZ1 so he should be alright!

Looks wise they may not be for everyone, but I like BMWs for that reason. Its a very competent bike and holds its own well. The one thing I disliked was its slow speed, part throttle fuelling but I addressed that with the ECU reflash and would highly recommend doing that if he gets one.

I'm at home today and just about to take the gearbox casing off of the Scoot, so no ride on the mighty F8R today! Depending on outcome of scooter I may be on it tomorrow though? I spent a full day cleaning it a while back so am very reluctant to ride it unless its dry!

It got a rack and top box and not its GPR exhaust.

I spent far too long trying to work out how to open the top box!

I had to go into work yesterday and as the weather was supposed to be nice I thought i'd give the bike a run and give the ECU a chance to adjust to the standard exhaust, but the battery just didn't have enough for it to catch. Turns out that was a result as it poured with rain and it would have got filthy! I'm off next week as well but it looks like Monday is the only decent day, so hopefully get out on it then. Optimate has given the battery a clean bill of health.

Decided as its probably not going anywhere until next spring, i'd refit the GPR race can in case I doi use it. Hopped up in the loft and got it down and went outside to fit it and get a message from a bloke 10 minutes up the road that he is very interested, just secured his finances and wants to come and see it next week!

He viewed the bike and loved it. He has a S1000RR but wants this is as his daily commuter. So sale agreed in principle, but it's not actually gone yet, should be next week sometime.
Its a funny thing, but now its going, I feel a bit gutted. I don't use it, literally the return mileage from the MOT station is all that's on it since then, but when a bike goes, I feel a bit empty for not having a bike?

If you were serious I'd say get it bought, one of the few bikes I lust after at the minute. Stunning.

AGreed, they are simply stunning bikes but not for me. I've sort of quit biking now and just use my scoot for commuting. No real intention of buying another bikes at the moment...
