My brother has one painting that was valuable, and is now even more valuable, by a bloke called Stanhope Forbes. So much so that he cannot now insure it in his own house, it is on loan to a museum/art gallery. That sort-of defeats the purpose of owning a nice painting.

I have several originals, but they were bought because i like them, not because they are or ever will be, valuable.
