Surely a 32t on the front would make it easier to get up the hill? Or did you lose teeth on the cassette at the same time?

Well, even though he was mostly using the 42, he did have the 24T granny to emergency help him... not any more though. MTFU

If I remember rightly, you are a bit of a chunk bunny? You will find 32 mm stanchions kind of flexy -
look at fox 34 , or Yaris from Rockshock. Yari OEM seem to come up on eBay fairly often - but you will need something as long, or longer than ten current steerer length.

I use tubeless on my road, cross and MTB bikes. Key thing is tubeless is not maintenance free. Fluid dry's out. 3 months for standard fluid, 2 months for race fluid.

Use Stans for road bikes, Orange Seal Race for mtb and cyclocross. Maintain it properly and tubeless works well, fit and forget and it'll let you down.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I bought a tubeless kit for the MTB from Halfords and used the Stans tape to seal the rims. The tyres are tubeless Maxxis.
Just can't get the presta valves to seal on the rim, air rushes past them.
Tried hand tight on the locking screw and progressively tightening but no joy.
Also tried making my own valve using an old inner tube (youtube tip...).

Any ideas? Ta

That schraeder Valve fits through the hole?

Presta valves are a lot narrower.

The presta isn't a tight fit?

The wheel originally had schraeder tubes so the holes are wide enough for them.
The MTB kit I bought only came with presta
