That panel just clips out if you undo bolts right? So you can do a Weeksy and replace offending one with a new look Ebay one?
Yes the "tank" is made up of 3 main panels and 2 side scoops. The panels are often on eBay but of course not when I want one now lol!

I'd probably buy some vinyl wrap and give it a try just on that panel, faux carbon might look cool.

Things delivered...
Bar-end mirrors, the stock mirrors are terrible, cheap and easy fit.
Adjustable shorty levers, I have small hands and they were a bargain.
Chain wax, paraffin and a chain brush thingy.
Things in the post...
Cheap flyscreen for the XSR (£18), the "branded" ones are stupid expensive.
GPS alarm/tracker (£23), I'm a geek so after reading up, I can set it up to send location data to my own Raspberry Pi server running traccar. Also set it up for geofencing, and as an amusement, get it to sms me when it senses over 100mph.
Stuff in my fleabay basket, awaiting funds...
XCP rust proofing spray, saw a test on socialbike site, looks good stuff.
125db alarm siren/klaxon and set it up with a decoy alarm box, in conjunction with the GPS alarm.
Different footpegs, stock ones are odd to my feet.
Kevlar lined jeans, the ones I have are past it.
I am currently 3D printing a few 'bits' for the XSR while it's pissing down, custom fuse-box covers, go-pro mount for the bars, spacers to lower the clock, quadlock mount and toying with designing sidepanels.

Hadn't thought of that. If the new tank pad doesn't work i'll probably do that. Thanks.

I know a few people that rave about Cool Covers seat covers when riding distances. Not just comfort in the conventional sense but the air flow. My 1290GT can also get a tad warm in hot weather so ventilation would be good.
For KTM bikes, KTM now have the rights (i.e. this is now a PowerPart) so you have to go via a dealer instead of going direct. It's about 1/2" thick which you may need to consider if already on tip toes. KTM say it fits the stock seat but Cool Covers said it would fit the PowerParts one and it does. It's an odd material - like loads of springs but made of plastic and they don't collapse liked you'd expect. I'll give it a run tomorrow but the real test will be Germany next week with temps up to 29C

Not exactly a busy thread this one, took a bit of finding!
This has arrived today, 10 days after I ordered it which is pretty damn fast IMO and will get fitted to my KTM off-roader when I get around to it- purchase was prompted by me needing yet another speedo sensor ( anyone who has a KTM/Husky/Husa etc EXC type bike will know they get twatted from time to time off-road and break ) - Speedo hasn't been working for a year or two, so thought it was time I bought a new sensor , saw this at just about half the price of a genuine KTM sensor including a new blingy speedo with the sensor so I'll probably replace the OE KTM display as well I think

Cheap Chinese handguards. There really is no point in buying expensive ones as they don't do anything any different, well apart from empty your wallet more.

The £15 ebay ones with the orange stripes?
I put them on my 700, it was like they were made for the bike, never had a generic part fit so well!

NOS set of carbs for the Nordie.....
Even after a couple runs through the sonic bath its still not right and I can't be arsed to fanny about anymore so a new set have been purchased- I need to get it off the bench and back in one piece, it's holding up so many other things.
Fecking ethanol ! ( and yes , it could be said my twattishness for leaving regular unleaded in it all those years ago ) has a lot to answer for

Looks like one of those 'fake' double carb setups like Yamaha used on the SRX?

Yup, think the old XT600 has same sort of set-up too- not fake as such, it is two carbs in their own right but with a shared float chamber- the main (non CV) one only comes into play above a certain throttle opening, sure they did it for a reason but does seem unnecessary over-complication to me
