If you never fall off you're not going fast enough.

WEll sadly the boy has thrown a spanner in the works after breaking a metatarsal in his left foot. Not testing his new DH bike, but in school jumping over a gate. Theoretically that's 4 weeks really... but i can't see us/him taking that. I think he'll miss the next race but be back for the 20th.

Unless he can talk the wife into letting him race this weekend.

Maybe he can spanner for you, whilst you go racing😂

"Especially the lies."

To be fair, if we put the spring back in for the heavier rider i could arguably use it :D

Sorry to hear about the lad weeksy.

I think I'll sign up for PMBA Kirroughtree, and maybe just pick up a few others through-out the year.

It's quite tough now picking and choosing events... I don't want to throw the lad in too deep into Nationals as they're a whole new level of crazy. But with other plans it's getting complex, there's a perfect one at Caersws which is where he's raced before last year and loved it. Well, apart from the crash and the ambulance.. The downside is... it's 3 days before we go to Morzine lol.

To any normal human that's not a drop it's cliff edge, James' will smash that with barely a shrug.

And he'll look stylish doing it. :)

Yeah it'll be interesting in the coming months.

He's got a couple of races that are A races. Most of the races we do are B or even unclassified. As you'd expect, the As are harder, both in terms of the track and the competitors.
Sadly for him, when we were at Berwyn last weekend there was a race at Gawton. Same place he got 5th at last year.... the guy in 3rd that race was 1.2s ahead of. Well this weekend, he won the race by 4s and another of the rivals of the boy from previous race was 3rd, who my lad beat by 4-5s last time... So he'd have been on a for potential podium.
But he'll get his days and his glory one day i'm fairly sure. Maybe even at 417 on the 10th, i'm expecting him to be top half dozen even though it's U16s.

It's a tough decision at times between interesting and adventurous races to enter, or easy ones that he'll place well in.

Race day Sunday…. 417 Flyup. It’s a cracking little fun race, not too far away and well run, both of us really enjoy it there as it’s the right type of atmosphere too 🙂

He’s not been on his bike since crashing, although we may get 10 mins tomorrow just to check it over, i’ve had it all checked on the stand and it’s running nicely.

I’ll be racing at the back of the old mans field and curious to see if i go faster or slower on the Trek than on the G170.

So I ended up last. Poop.

But I went 8s quicker than last time! I'll take that all day

The boy went 1.5s quicker on race 2 but still ended 11th.

Tickets open in a few weeks for the later rounds of Southern Enduro. I think me and the lad will do the late Sept round at Milland as we’ve already signed up for the practice on the 23rd July.. so makes sense to get out and put it into a race effort too.

It's techy, tricky, but nothing impossible... the push up is fine, so mostly it's about as fun/nice an Enduro as we'll find i think. The right level of Gnar, fun and speed.

Anyone else up for a bit ?
