Hush man. Get it bought before somebody else does. Hell, I'll sub it until you sell the bike*. Some things just have to happen.

Well at least it's not the xsr7, cos that's fugly!
I reckon you'll be wanting another 10hp for it to be really fun, but HNBD anyway!

It's so far away from the XSR 900 in terms of riding position etc too, it's a weird weird thing. I don't get how they got it so wrong on the XSR 700.

The lucky thing is, I rode the mt07 first, because if I'd ridden the XSR first I wouldn't have even taken the mt07 out.

At least with this one the change in riding position and your new leathers you will be managing knee down again ;)

Happy new bike day (for the 21st) :obscene-drinkingcheers:

I'll stick a contribution in for that. Happy birthday for the 26th!
Ha ha. Thanks fella but I was kidding
I'm not. I'll do 10% of it as a happy birthday and thank you for providing our home and being a top virtual bloke (and, apparently, IRL as well!).
I’ll stick £25 in too 👍

Another £20 in the kitty but really the plate should be “NE B1KE”

Blimey, I disappear for a week or so and come back to 2 Weeksy bike changes and pages of posts about it

I have to say I'm surprised with the decision on a new MT07, sort of understand your (knee-jerk? ) logic but it's a strange brand-new bike choice for you IMO - I predict it will be doing well if it makes it past the first service in your ownership! ;)

I can't wheelie at all. I have a Speed Triple and I can't wheelie that, but I went to a wheelie school a couple of years ago and I managed to wheelie one of their MT07s

Lol you lot seem to be missing the fact I'd never accept your money. I have enough issues allowing @Welsh Muffin buying me Xmas presents and birthday presents, let alone accepting something from my virtual friends.

Seriously, thank you, it's very kind. But it's not me to accept things.

If you can come up with a better option, I'm all ears, bit I think we covered them all in the threads.

Honestly it was a cracking bike to ride and I generally struggle to get on with other bikes but this I was instantly at home on.

I take a lot of stock from what Couchie says about bikes and he raves about his. We've liked a lot of the same bikes over the years like the 990SD, 790S, heck he even enjoyed the 690... So for him to say his is brilliant is a deal-maker for me, well certainly in terms of taking it out for a test ride anyway. That was a no-brainer. As i said, apart from the slipper clutch not existing, i couldn't find anything i don't like about it.

Now it looks like orange in the pics, but I've a suspicion it's red in real life.

I must admit, i didn't check when at the dealers. The blue one i sat on and tested was nice, but the blue whilst iconic Yamaha doesn't really jump out at you.
If the black had been a paint i could be more certain of when it comes to cleaning and polishing then i'd have gone black for sure. Stealthy and cool... but i wasn't sure if it was a satin i could clean properly or a matt that would show anything and everything. So i ended up with the Storm Fluo, which is cool and i like the painted primer grey sort of look :)

I had a decent result on Ebay with J-tech who make the tail tidy.. I bought one for the 690 the other day, fitted it but never used outside... I messaged them and asked if they'd let me return it and swap for an MT07 (which is admittedly a little cheaper) and he said yes... So that'll go back today to J-tech and i'll have a tail tidy on it's way.

Glad to see a few others don't/can't wheelie!! My TLs was 'broken' (way before I killed it) cos I never had the front wheel up :( :( :( I did manage to wheelie a Bandit a million years ago at a wheelie school, but I was on a Blackbird at the time - no way was I gonna try and wheelie that !!

Nice.

You're going to hate me for this, but, at first glance, in that colour scheme: it looks like a BMW

Of the colours available i preferred this one. I also think it'll hold up better than the black.... the blue is just a bit too common for me.

People tend not to give stuff away to people they don't like, or for no reason.

You put shitloads of good content on here, put up with all my shit, and give everyone a place to hang out and connect.
I think people are just trying to say thank you.

There is a few quid in the pot towards the £250 and I'd happily make up the difference, you don't have to accept it, but it's no biggie, like I said I think people just want to say thanks.

The only problem is when you sell it in three months and buy another 690 you'll look a twat riding around with MT07 on it
There's nothing in the pot mate :) someone sent some money which i instantly refunded... Harsh that may be, but i wasn't going to take your money guys... Sorry.

If you wanna say thanks, that's all well and good, we'll meet up somewhere and you guys can all buy me lunch and a beer... but that's as much of a thanks as i want/need.

The plate is both ridiculous and awesome at the same time. But if it's going to get bought, i'll be the one who has to find the cash.
