Re: Last Night's DVD
Started watching the 10 part series of Brave New World on Sky.
Episdoe one just felt like a lot of tits to bring the viewers in. I know that's part of the book, but it seemed beyond gratuitous
Episodes 2 and 3 a bit better. They've already departed from the book quite heavily and it definitely feels more sexed up (and almost literally in places) for TV.
Trouble is, they gotta do something. The whole "future utopia which isn't quite as utopian as it seems" genre has been done to death. The book was of course one of the key creators of that very genre, but if you weren't aware of that you'd think a straight telling of it on TV was utterly derivative.

Re: Last Night's DVD
The major thing I remember about that film is all my English lesson peers thinking the accents were absurd.
That and not understanding what he wanted when he got a bag of scraps from the chippy.

Re: Last Night's DVD
The big ugly.
Not what I expected from a Vinnie Jones & Ron Pearlman, but a decent film nevertheless.

Not on DVD but on Netflix..........
Schumacher, a touching documentary film, released yesterday, with some interesting insights to a very private man.
His wife comes across very well, providing commentary throughout about him and his family as do Gina and Mick, his children.
A very private public figure who divided opinion when he was driving but he certainly lived life to the full. Must admit I have the utmost admiration for the mental strength of Mrs S.
Highly recommended

The Defiant Ones. Netflix.
Basically a documentary about Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine and their respective careers in the music industry. Bit of a glossy affair, but interesting four parter. Lots of famous talking heads chipping in.
