There is some scientific evidence of the benefits of 2 days low intake.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 1:56 pm Do you think you'd lose the same amount of weight by eating 7 days a week but reducing portion size to 5/7ths of normal, effectively eating the same as you do by fasting for two days out of seven?
Another year, another 5-2... starting, well, right now.

No, they were the reason I'm carrying the 12lb more than I should be. Well, they were a part of it, but I'd done a good 2 months of eating badly, some beers and not enough proper pedalling.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 4:07 pm Were those pomperdoms, onion barges, nan bread, rice, curry and beers you had in Llanelli the low calorie version.
There's an argument for cutting back on the other days too of course and that's also on my agenda.

I've just had a quick read about this and weirdly, this is how I always used to eat when working in an office!!! I couldn't face breakfast before I went to work as too early, so generally didn't eat till lunch (one boss used to hassle me and make me have breakfast as he was a firm believer of 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day')Taipan wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 9:40 am The wife and I have been doing the 16/8 fast for 4 days a week to start with. It's been fine for me, but my wife is really suffering with headaches and strong hunger pangs! Anyone else had such problems? Do they pass as the body gets used to it? I've told her to drink more water as I think that will solve it, but its only guesswork, time will tell I suppose.
Back then I don't think fasting was really a thing. But I've started to wait till lunchtime to eat, so might do it with more structure. I'm heading to the gym next week as its just reopened up here with new cycles, cross-trainers and rowing machines (and other stuff)! Downside for me is that it doesn't open till 3pm - I like to get out and do the exercise early morning, but hey ho

I don't eat breakfast and I'm a bit porky, it's because I like food.
