Yep definitely. Hopefully these will be a step up from the street sinter, which were more than sufficient on the gsxr, the last 790, and a couple of bikes before that!

Typical!
How are the stylemas? Have you done the master cylinder too?

At the moment I’m using an accossato m/c with the integrated fluid pot and stylemas and tbh the stylemas are more bling factor as the stock calipers with sbs pads and accossato are more than adequate.
I was using a Brembo Costa corta which was ok but I prefer the look without a fluid pot.

Yeah, they do look nice! So does that Accosato MC. I didn't know you could get an integrated fluid pot. Added to the shopping list.

Put the SBS Evo Sinter pads in yesterday morning and went for a little ride. They didn't take long to bed in, and they're much much better that the OEM pads (no real surprise). They don't stop you that aggressively but they do stop you very quickly. Money well spent I think and gave me a chance to give the calipers a little clean too.

Managed a nice ride on Saturday - went though Sudbury to Bury St. Edmunds. According to the dash, it was 13.5 degrees...it would've been rude not to.

It was awesome to get back out - winter is a nervous time for any bike I own, I tend to get brainwashed by eBay, but the 790 was loads of fun. The tyres in the picture (esp. the front) show how well-treated the roads round here have been! They weren't that bad though - didn't find any slippery bits, even in sport mode.
Was definitely colder by the time I got home, but hey, it's a naked bike at the end of january. I wasn't expecting to be out til later in march.

Still surprises me in a way that Mofo dismisses the 790/890... If that one at £7200 is still about he'd be crazy not to at least consider it.
And Pembrey

Is it the warranty issues? It's hard not to love the bike once you've spent an hour on one!
I think the 790 gets a bit of a hard time with warranty issues tbh. Yeah it has got a few common issues, but I spent some time looking at zx6r's and apparently the 07/08 had a issue with rocker cover gasket seals which is a common complaint on 790s. I'd never consider that on a kawasaki. Fireblades had issues with oil burning and cranks etc etc. Still shitty that they're not all spot on on the 790, but it's by no means alone in having issues! Most of the 790s are just gaskets, which are annoying, rather than new bike territory, but I'm a biased owner! I'm out of warranty now, so my perspective will change pretty quickly if I have to pay for an 'annoying' gasket repair I'm sure!

It's the niggly issues I'm worried about out of warranty. Less the oil leaks as they seem fairly minor. More the dash/electrics stuff as I'd imagine that'd get pricey. Currently thinking about if I call Jason about either of his 790s. Thinking first as I know if I go in there I'll be coming out with one 100%.

If you’ve not ridden one, they’re a lot of fun!
You can get a nice dash cover to protect the screen. I just put a buff or towel over it if I’m leaving it somewhere that might get too hot.

Gwaaan - I see they've got a couple of low milage 890s as well at not too unreasonable money...

Bike's not been out much recently - combination of weather/no spare time/spending more time on the mtb.
Either way, was serviced yesterday, so it's got another 9300mi or 12 months before it needs anything else looking at. There were some ecu and software updates and the quick shifter was recalibrated.
I got a new 890 as a courtesy bike - thought it was the R, but sadly not. It's a lot smoother at low speed than the 790 and the front suspension felt firmer. It had the powerparts seat on it too which really wasn't nice at all! Was nice to get back on the 790, it feels a little more alive if that's the right word. That said, it might be time for it to go to a new home soon, so if anyone's considering one, let me know!

Ah..I see what you're doing there. I actually made a few enquiries about swapping the 790 for one based on it potentially being cheaper all round. It turned out it wasn't so I binned the idea off.
Nice ride in to work this morning though, dash said 3 degrees but it was all dry so that'll do.

After putting the 790 up for sale, then deciding to keep it, it's back up for sale once more.
I certainly don't want to be selling it, but what with cost of living going up etc. I can't see me keeping it at the end of the pcp, so figured I may as well try and get rid whilst it's worth more. Had very little interest so far so I'd imagine I've priced it too high...not a massive problem whilst the sun's out and I can go and play

HOw much you priced it at ? Throw a link up and we'll see if we can offer anything constructive.

Not a lot of argument with that advert mate... ideally maybe some better lighting on the pics so you can see the details a bit more.... but overall, nothing wrong with that.

Cheers - yeah perhaps some better pics might help. So far I've had an offer of a swap for a 2013 zx6r, a few enquiries on FB, and one persistent guy who just keeps lowballing every few days...
Brought the bike to work today - selling it is a great idea when it's in the garage, but once you get out to play it makes a pretty convincing argument to stay!
