Not a good situation to be in, especially if Mrs. T feels at risk now - hate this generation of dirty scrotes that think they have the right to take what you've worked hard for.

As already suggested, get the bike out of sight - perhaps someone's garage for a period of time and then they'll fuck off somewhere else?
They obviously took note of your camera and paid no notice, so aren't afraid of being recorded and probably prepared to have a go should you confront them.

We've got an alarm with a screamer button, but in the heat of the moment we forgot to use it!  Checked cameras this morning and no one came skulking around last night. Wife is a bit more relaxed about thing now.

Spoke to local Police and at their request I have submitted the video clips through their axon portal. Cop said the footage will be reviewed and they will build a profile based on their clothing, tools carried etc. I am fully playing the game here and have asked for victim support, in the hope the stats build up etc. I feel I have to do this as this isn't just naughty kids nicking bikes, its armed kids nicking bikes and it needs addressing.

Going by the response and comments on local FB page, this little crew are doing the rounds in this area. This does seem to happen. They blitz an area and move on somewhere else, but I guess will eventually end up back in this area again.

I kinda feel sorry for them. It's all they'll ever be. They'll never know the true feeling of a sense of accomplishment, getting your own place, buying stuff for it, getting a legal vehicle etc. They'll just live life looking over their shoulders. Quite pathetic really.

They are definitely very brazen. They apparently took a bike from outside the local Aldis in broad daylight using the same method! The town is getting angry...

Don't, they're cunts. They need to be kicked in the taters hard enough that they never breed & kicked in the kidneys hard enough to piss blood until Chrsitmas.

They obviously identified the chain as the weakest link (no pun intended)
I was toying with the idea of 1m length of scaffold pole, steel cable inside then fill it with sand and aluminium swarf to clog a grinder. Set one end in a bucket of concrete. At the other end do another bucket with a sliding fit hole one side and a hole big enough to get your hand in but not an angle grinder so you could get a big padlock in the end of the scaffold pole or cable but not get at it with a grinder.
Big and ugly, the main idea is to make it look time consuming.

1. They'd twat you with that claw hammer
2. If you went after them with a weapon you'd get nicked
3. They only need to be trying to run away and it becomes excessive force
4. Look forward to their mates terrorising your family until you move

Better to deter IMO although I envy your option to shoot the scum

An armed society is a polite society, you'd be amazed at the number of bikes I see parked at the RockStore with the keys in the ignition.

Also: Beating the cunts senseless IS a deterrent.

Not cheap, then then neither is your excess/time if it does get nicked?
