Oh noes!!! Too late to get my $$ back... good thing I have a bunch of the nuts & screws, left over from the kit I bought for the ZX11... & which came with damn near 200 pieces for some reason.

The mods have started.... BMW (knock off) Top-Lock exhaust nuts. Just cracked the originals loose with a 1/4in ratchet & 12mm wobble socket then easily unthreaded them with my fingers... (this is the point that The Priest kicks a nun)

The damn thing still has the cable for locking the bike up! It will getting some BLO down the inside of that frame tube & the fins will be getting a good soapy scrub.

It has a slight electrical gremlin (go figure..)
Headlight warning light flickers at idle, but apparently goes out when moving....

And when I hooked up the battery tender the first time it charged up & the green light came on to indicate storage mode...
Now it changes from the green flashing, to solid red, to flashing red back & forth like it can't make it's bloody mind up. Disconnected it for the night, will faff with it tomorrow.
Thinking it has an iffy ground someplace... or it was caused by the seller driving through a frigging monsoon this morning on his way here. Pointing a big fan at it overnight in the garage.

On the upside:
Spiffy seat
New battery
New tires
Fresh brake fluid
New brake pads
New front brake rotors... & they're OEM, not the usual aftermarket stuff.

Battery tender is behaving today, ground was a bit loose on the battery... but not loose enough to stop everything working.

Looking a bit crowded in the garage, but there's enough room to the left of the ZX11 & behind the GPz11 to fit a GPz750 Turbo... ;) :shhh:

I'm thinking GPz750 Turbo.. although if the son of my late mate who collected Kaw's does sell the collection, I have dibs on the purple '75 H2 & a blue '75 Z1.

Called Hagerty this morning to get the insurance started. Gal I spoke to the other day messed up the year & had it listed as a '93. Corrected that & full coverage/cherished salvage etc dropped from $90/year to $45 :)

The cherished salvage option means that if it gets wrecked etc I get to keep the bike without having to buy it back from the insurance company... & I get the full agreed value if it's totaled ($7500 each on all three 1100's)

Funny part was the gal I spoke to this morning sounded exactly like Marge Gunderson from Fargo.

That's a deal on the ZZR. They are worth virtually nothing here. I see minters going for less than £2k sometimes.

There's a mileage limit with Hagerty. I have it at 5k miles for the F350 & I think the bikes are 1200 miles each.

I loved mine. Had a C1 and a crasher C2 I bought for buttons and built the way I wanted, but so far I haven't went back and bought a bike I've had before. If I go back in years it's the bikes I missed out that I seem to buy.

Bikes like the ZZR11 and the Blackbird are definitely bargain buys. Loads of bang for yer buck right there and easy to work on.

D is a different ball game to a C, so technically you haven't had one before :)

This has the fault that my previous '83 had: Tube between the front engine mount cracks & falls off.

Not worried in the least, it has zero effect on anything

Not as busy as it once was but if you do fancy a Turbo then lots of great advice can be found here
