I'm so far behind with mine but it might mean my provender lasts well into September and maybe October instead of picking it all too early in July/August due to our 2 weeks in France at the end of August. Looks a bit wet for riding this weekend so lots to do in the shed for me!

Chillies, garlic, toms and sunflowers are all I'm growing this year.

Harvest time has come early in cloudy drizzly Shropshire. Today we have eaten some Lettuce and Raddish leaves from the garden, added to a nice salad with dressing. Indoor bbq today.

Went to farm foods the other week, I'm liking their mozzarella sticks in breadcrumbs, spicy chicken kebabs but the pork steaks were not pork and went straight to the bin. Nice for those quick last minute bbqs.

Potted on 46 tomatoes earlier today (this isn't all of them!) Refusing to put them in the greenhouse yet as the overnight temps are still low.

Not that I have room for 46 tomato plants, but that's an issue for future me

There's some cucumbers and squash in with that lot too.

I'm a bit sad that I feel I've missed the chance to do much gardening of veg this year But will see what it's like when I get home - May can still be pretty cold (like right now!) so maybe I can plant some stuff in June

Plenty coming in now. Had some beetroot for the best sandwich. Chilli's and peppers doing good and we've got butternut squash on the go. Water meter might be spinning a bit.

The lettuce in pots and in the beds is doing fine but needing a daily watering, herbs are all hanging in there, even the basil.

Garlic fell over last week and I think it's a total loss.

Fennel appears to have bolted and looks set to go to seed. The dry spell seems to have convinced it it's in year 2 of its cycle instead of year 1

Broad bean crop is not looking promising compared to last year, I'm probably most gutted about this.

Shallots are looking pretty good but something is munching on the broccoli and appears to have a very strong appetite so it's not looking great for that.

I'm very envious of all the veggies

Just looked to see if I could plant some broccoli or something now but apparently temps over 30 degrees make it bolt ??

Might try some in August if the temps start going down a bit

On that basis I'll probably do some lettuce then, will try not to break myself between now and next spring/summer and make a plan over the winter to grow a handful of things to try

Garlic suffered in the heat, so I dug it up early. 9 bulbs. Not bad as they were only in small troughs.
