Aye. When I was teaching Mrs Y to ride, I told her off if she had to look where the indicator was.

I'm not so bothered about 4wd for my van but just on the odd occasion a difflock would come in handy.

Oh and as I found out today I'd like parts to get a good amount of time after the warranty runs out.
After only 18 years after the warranty ran out on my van and just a mere 250, 000 miles the bastard clutch is slipping in the higher gears Crappy damn Toyota.

Muscle memory can be a bit lax when the bikes you own all have their switches in different positions.
For instance, who thought it a good idea to put the horn button above the indicators?

Hmmm I dunno ...

Can get several wine bottles into the wheel well when packing for holidays etc. I do that more often than getting punctures

I've got about 3000 x 1230 load space (between the arches) in the back, I think I prefer having a spare wheel to being stuck by the M6 if I have a tyre go on me.

If you're fully loaded, good luck on getting at the spare wheel if it's under the boot floor.

And putting my Captain Safety superhero cape on the side of the M6, or on any other Motorway hard shoulder, isn't a 'safe' place to be. Let alone trying to change an offside wheel with your back to a live lane.

Meh, I've done it.
Admittedly it was a nearside rear and as I'd just passed the on slipway from Southwaite services so I reversed about 50 yards on the hard shoulder and then up the hard shoulder of the slipway.
Replaced the wheel, got the now fitted tyre pumped up a few PSI (it had been a spare under the van for a while and I'd not knocked my pan in checking it, yeah blah blah blah) at the garage then continued my journey home.
I still feel that not having a spare wheel is pretty wank and carrying a box of wine bottles isn't a good substitute.

Depends on the car, and the control / button.

You don't need to see what your feet are doing on the foot controls, or your hands with the brake, throttle and clutch.

So why do you need to see the buttons?
