As the chain met Mr Lube yet.
No! I just bought some wd40 chain cleaner and now I have a stand it'll be getting good clean and lube over the bank holiday weekend.

Pretty shameful really as I've done over 500 miles on it and haven't touched it other than put fuel in!
Trying to get it booked in for a belt service but it seems bike tuners and mechanics don't reply to emails?

wd40 chain cleaner
I used that the other day and was well impressed. This was a spray, leave 30 secs and then wipe off with a rag. I reckon a little bit more effort with a chain brush would have smashed it.

Ahh, I knew it was someone on here that posted about it but couldn't remember who. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah brush is defo better but mine was found dead so just went with a rag this time. I sprayed it on and was initially thinking, well that's doing SFA, I then went over it with a rag and it all came off easy. Right at the end I did a quick second spray on the last section of chain and it started to run dirt out with just the spray pressure so I'd say it was decent stuff. But yeah a brush to get in between the links is best, but what I did was enough to get rid of the proper mank and I'll brush next time. That chain lube was on there all over winter as I left it like that as it stopped the rust in my damp garage so it was very ropey and I didn't use a lot of the spray.

I use it to agitate and clean the swinging arm and sprocket, but, hey, each to their own!

I gave my CBR a thorough clean up last month with this stuff
https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DCh ... g96BAgBEC8(a Lockdown purchase) it’s great stuff and really cleaned up behind the hugger and around the swingarm - I also took some plastics off and cleaned up the block and down pipes - Fan doesn’t come on so often so the rad must have been filthy.
I don’t have anywhere to clean it so have to go to a friends which is a ballache and stops me doing it

I use Muc-off at the moment too but coming to the end of the 5 litres I bought. Find it so-so, it's OK but not great but I only tend to use it as a pre wash before going at the bike with cloths.
Sdoc is still the best I've used but too pricey, might try the Oxford Mint stuff as it's on special at SBS and just won the Ride best buy thing.

I don't often need to inflict water on the bike, but when necessary I use Sdoc. I know it's expensive, but it works. I have Muc Off,but it leaves stubborn water streaks on painted surfaces,so I don't like it.
Never mind the cost of Sdoc Tarquin, you'll never use a full bottle during your ownership anyway.

Never say I don't look after things!! The muc-off is nearly 5 years old and is in immaculate condition!
